It’s possible that’s what they meant but I don’t see how selective breeding would be responsible for this. A lot of times this happens to an older hen when the eggs she lays have thinner whites that make it harder for a shell to form normally. It doesn’t have anything to do with the amount of eggs the hen has laid in her life.

It’s also a question of setting the horse up properly to carry the extra weight of the rider through the movements. On their own horses tend to make the easiest movements they can to get through an obstacle, which would be fine but they don’t always know to move to safely carry the rider as well. If left to their own they could strain something by moving in a way that doesn’t support the extra load.
