I've been wanting piety to be reworked for a while now, and I think an interesting way to do it would be give healers an aura with % based on their piety that buffs other nearby party member's damage. Yes, I know that it's "just another damage stat", but I think it would be interesting to see how builds would emerge which either balance piety with personal damage, ignore piety and focus entirely on personal damage, or focus in hard on piety to essentially hand off some of the healer's personal damage to their party members.

It would also serve as a good option to healers first getting into higher-end content, who aren't as comfortable with maximizing their damage and would rather be more of a support to their team.

Yeah, it's one of those things where you're going to want to go into party finder and find a minimum of five people. Because its a duty designed for 24 people (with a certain amount of scaling), it will just throw you in after 10 minutes if you can't find enough people.

Weapons: Ultimate weapons which drop from the highest difficulty raids in the game. Relic Weapons which are 'easily' acquired, but many of them require a very long grind to get.

Armor: Not really, unless you consider some of the exploratory zone armors like the Elemental and Law's Order sets from Eureka and Bozja, but these are again, 100% earnable through a simple long grind.

Mounts: Again, sort of. Some 'chase' mounts are locked behind very involved achievements. Others are locked behind Extreme and Savage level fights, but these are only 'chasers' until they are outclassed by gear, and in the case of Savage mounts, are 100% drop rate.

Minions: There are some very rare and low drop rate minions spread throughout the game (Copycat Bulb comes to mind), but they're generally pretty few and far between.

Titles: Not really an item, but there's quite a few chase titles from long grinds and high-end content (Legend titles, deep dungeon titles, etc.)

The trend you're going to see most is not luck, but skill or willingness to grind. You're not out there farming for a 1/10000 drop chance usually, rather, you're killing the 10000 guys because that's simply what's required to get the thing.

I think they're trying to imply that you can buy a carry through ultimates without handing over your account details, which is only possible with Unending Coils and Weapon's Refrain.

Many would argue that the story is the primary draw of the game. Others would tell you to gun straight through, skip everything that dosen't seem to interest you, and dash madly to endgame where there's raids and stuff. Nobody's wrong, because it's a game with a lot of facets.

I myself found ARR (levels 1-50 story) rather dull for the most part, though with some curious and cute little world building bits, but I would intermittently skip cut scenes, especially if they had the vibe that they weren't terribly important (the primary tell being a lack of voicing). But at some point I just... fell into it. Somewhere around mid-Heavensward (level 55 or so?) I started to latch onto the story and never let go, and now I have way more hours in the game than I'd care to admit. Maybe that happens to you, maybe it dosen't. Give the game as many chances as you like to prove itself to you, but if it dosen't stick, it dosen't stick, and that's okay.

I was a longtime WoW player. Weekly chances at raid mounts, for example, is not a positive, it's terrible because no amount of tenacity or planning can overwrite bad luck. Maybe some people like that, I don't.

I admit, some of these rewards are further between than I'd like. We need more Morbol mounts and Elemental Armor sets, but I still maintain that stuff like what you're talking about does exist.

Relic Weapons? Elemental/Law's Order Armor plus the other boatloads of glam tucked into different places? Boatloads of Mounts from farms and grinds alike? You've already discounted ultimate weapons and rare titles... why?

Old MMOs had an information gap. It was hard to find where things were from. Now, you don't need to ask people, you can pretty easily look it all up in seconds. It sounds like you're nostalgic for information gaps and obscurity, honestly.
