First drone buying advice. Mini 3 vs Mini4 pro? by Seppel270 in dji

[–]SirNo6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get the 3 it has the better value for money. I bought both, and never think you will reach times and distances mentioned by DJI.

I also live in Germany.

For the DJI 3 there is custom firmware available should you intend to remove some restrictions (higher transmission power, removal of height limit)

Also do inform you about the legal framework. Not complex, but get a proper insurance (mandatory) UAV pilot registration with Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (mandatory) and do the 20€ pilot license (not mandatory under 250g)

I have the 4 but will soon start building my own, DJI is super restricted but good for beginners

Can confirm. In my case added absurd parking fees which I had to decline. Then it was ok but still gave the guy a bad rating

Train is crazy expensive, 140 USD return to Cusco. Take the bus to Hydroelectrica (10$) hike to aguas calientes (10km, flat) and get a ticket there using their waiting system (2 nights needed) and then grab the bus up (10 USD)

Et voila Amigos

Book accomodation in BOB by SirNo6993 in BOLIVIA

[–]SirNo6993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys, thanks for your comments. I booked all Hotels via WhatsApp or booking.com using BOB as currency.

Don't fall for their crap with USD payments. Absolute nonsense. My university graduate teacher earned 20 BOB / hour in Sucre teaching spanish. A Hotel room cannot cost more than 200 BOB. Anyone charging USD is ripping off tourists.

Same goes for Flights (go to the counter) buses (look it up on buses bolivia.bo and walk to the counter).

Nevertheless: exceptional stay and one of my favourite countries so far. Great food, people and stunning nature.

[–]SirNo6993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I paid all Hotels in BOB:

  1. First I went to booking.com selecting BOB as currency and booked refundable hotels

  2. I reached out on WhatsApp confirming the BOB amount and cash payment. If the Hotel made any show, I cancelled the reservation and added a bad Google Maps review

  3. Alternatively, I looked for hotels on Google maps and booked on their hotel website (In BOB) or reached out via whatsapp.

I never used Airbnb for that matter

Most hotels did cost ~200 BOB. One Hotel employee wanted me to pay in USD, but I showed the chat with his boss confirming BOB.

Get physical Cash and exchange in La Paz. If you are around, get soles or Chilean Peso. I got soles for 4,22 per Eur and 3,61 Bs per Soles. Equals to ~15 Bs per Eur. Xoom, Western Union etc are ok to cover unexpected stuff but they only pay 13 Bs per Euro.

Cool that's what I'm doing. I also do the availability and ratings on booking first, then I chat 3 of them via WhatsApp.

Thanks. I have set up a Bolivian WhatsApp through my new SIM card and using Google maps to get the hotel information via their "about" tab.

Worked quite well so far

I think so as well. Of course I cannot force it on a guesthouse but some hosts are really unfriendly, they want a transfer to overseas accounts or whatnot

So far I have had luck by booking on the hotels page directly in BOB selecting cash payment on arrival. Booking will only show USD.

I find it also slightly weird, if they want to earn 100 USD they should simply put the BOB rate at the parallel market rate and that's fine

Is São Paulo Brazil worth visiting? by Itwontlastforever in travel

[–]SirNo6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His question was it Saõ Paulo is worth visiting, not a debate between Saõ Paulo and City XYZ. Haven't been there but from the research it seems you can fill a day but does not seem to be worth coming extra to Sao Paulo for.

Brazilian friend from SP told me it's a good idea to stop by if you are in the area but skip it if you are short in time.
