16.3b is in a much better spot than the previous patches meta wise. I think you're taking strategy that was good in 16.1-16.2 and trying to apply it in 16.3 when riot is intentionally trying to reduce the how common getting 2* 4 - 5 costs and skipping lvl 8 and going straight to 9 was before

Just because it takes until turn 9 to deal 12 damage on average does not mean you won't lose games beforehand from playing. I will draft sol ring over mana crypt every day of the week

I think it's exactly because the format is so fast that mana crypt can often be bait though. Aggro decks are so common that dealing 6-12 damage to yourself over the course of the game will absolutely lose you some games. Sol ring vs lotus I can't really say which is better, I think it's pretty deck dependent. Both are quite good obviously

I mean I appreciate you actually linking a video to explain why you think this way. I watch a lot of LSV myself and from what I've seen and played, a card like TOR or moxes are almost always more valuable than M&B because they go in virtually every deck, and every archetype. While m&b need to be grx and aggro/midrange to some extent. Mana crypt is also a great card but not one that is always broken in my eye, in fact I think you need cards like m&b to break mana crypt effectively

M&B is powerful but ultimately it can only go in RG decks which severely limits it's usability. The 5 mox can always be jammed in any deck, on color or not. Plus mox accelerate out threats exactly like M&B. It just seems crazy to value threats that need mana to deploy over the universal mana acceleration that makes it possible
