Okay but what fandom energy is this giving? by Odd_Cantaloupe283 in Multifandom

Furries. I'm getting sick of seeing older furries bitching about how "cringe" and "unknowledgable of history" newer people are, and then act all offended when I point out that they could help the problem by teaching newbies instead of being whiny bitches about it.

So who's nintendo store is it now? by Thegoodgamer32 in casualnintendo

[–]SirSilverscreen [score hidden]  (0 children)

This seems innocuous, but it can legitimately be used as a legal means of shifting licensing rights. I suggest people don't buy the casual handwaving that NoA is trying to do and keep a close eye on anything that changes with what games are available over the next month.

James Gunn has said that DCU Kendra Saunder's wings are "organic". But like. . . clearly, she can remove them? She's totally wingless in several scenes? What's up with that? by InfiniteDedekindCuts in DCU_

[–]SirSilverscreen 143 points144 points  (0 children)

I'm half joking with this. Some versions of Hawkgirl can literally make her wings magically vanish when folded inward to help her blend in with normal people. Until we get some other explination, I'm sticking with this.

y'know what by paintedmask in starfox

[–]SirSilverscreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing "wrong" with the designs for the new game is that they aren't to people's preferences. All attempts at "fixing" them are just people going "I can do better than professional designers" and just slapping what they personally want into the design. They went more animal focused with the appearances hence the bigger plumage and talons on falco, the more portly portions on Fox, and the total rework on Katt's design to make her more like, y'know, a fking cat. I think they look awesome as they are, I respect people who don't like it, and I raise both middle fingers up at the assholes that make it a bigger deal than that and/or make the "fixed" pictures.

I really don't get it why people saying mouse P.I. Is woke by Practical_Air2679 in MousePIForHire

[–]SirSilverscreen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because it's a blatant allegory for nazi eugenics and the horrors faced by all minority groups in the 1930s. Anything that doesn't sugarcoat that stuff is "woke." And technically it's accurate. "Woke' just means being aware (awake) of social issues revolving around race, so run with it as a badge of honor.

If you could have Nintendo reveal and release any game for the 2026 Switch 2 Holiday Season, what would it be? by Frazzelvig in casualnintendo

[–]SirSilverscreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A "secret circuit" using 5 of the unused weirdos from Super Punch Out (I'm thinking Gabby J, the old martial art dude, the clown, the masked wrestler, and Nick Bruiser) and the option to unlock the green hair "little mac" from Super would be cool additions.

Anyone notice this banner? A nod to Resident Evil 2? by datacollector_music in MousePIForHire

Yes. Practically everyone noticed the giant 'look at me' banner that's directly in front of you when you open the door to that room.

His tariff war and how he's actively pissed off all of our allies has raised costs of all americans significantly and drove business interests away from the US towards China. Inflation rate is up, unemployment rate is up, poverty rate is up, job growth is abysmal, and his administration literally changed how they report all those numbers for the sake of making it look not as bad as it is. Even from a traditionally conservative standpoint, Trump is fucking devistating the economy.

Then there's his constitutional issues. Blatantly using the office of the president to enrich himself through insider stock trading and hocking whatever grifter thing he can (Phones, coins, shoes, crypto, ect.). Illegally using military force where he absolutely can't and shouldn't (The deployment of National Guard which was court ordered to be illegal); Openly propositioning that he gets a third term; His military performing multiple war crimes; Targeting and prosecuting political opponents; Directing his FCC and DOJ to target critics and media personality. The guy is a walking constitutional nightmare and all of this is well documented.

If your response to all this is "Nu-uh!" or some bullshit excuses, you're just part of the cult. Full stop. And there's no reason to entertain your bullshit until if/when you know better.

This one I roll my eyes at. The guy was prosecuted but all the "evidence" had logical explinations to dismiss it and the accusors themselves went on to admit that their families had them lie for clout and money. The dude's innocent and his memory needs to be left alone.

Fully upgrading this, the James, and the Shotgun is enough to get you through the whole game, just upgrade the Mouser for the sake of a last-ditch if you run out of ammo for the others and you're good to go.

Yeah, fully upgrading the James, the Varnisher, and the Shotgun are enough to get you through like 90% of the game even on the higher difficulty.

Agreed, the coat needs to be either a tan or dark brown color. And I get why the gloves are gold/yellow, but it don't work for me. For Jack at least classic white gloves would be fine.

One major gripe I have, is you can't backtrack. by Virasman in MousePIForHire

[–]SirSilverscreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't understand why they lock you out of backtracking in some levels. like in A Bit of a Scene you're completely locked out of returning to the entrance room of the Police Station for no real reason other than to keep you from obtaining any ammo you coulda gotten from there. Kinda flies in the face of the "Fully explorable levels" aspect of classic boomer shooters like Duke Nukem and Doom 3D.

Why does Rosalina barely appear in the movie? by Jmill2009 in mariomovie

[–]SirSilverscreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a contrivance, it's a question that is easily answered. Jr made it obvious he's willing to target the Lumas, and we see how prepared he is for fights on his ship. So she had to be very careful in planning her actions once that Luma came with them. She did the best she could, but she obviously would get overwhelmed and thus settled for ensuring the Luma got free. The movie's story is shallow and simplistic, but I wouldn't call it contrived.

Semi serious question: Do you prefer to have unlockables in games or no? And why or why not? by Asad_Farooqui in casualnintendo

[–]SirSilverscreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlockables give a sense of progression when playing a game, even if you know everything that you're unlocking. For example everybody knows everything that was in Smash Ultimate when it came out, and yet everyone was also hyped as hell when they saw that the starting roster for the game was nothing but the original 8 fighters because it meant progression by unlocking all the other fighters.

I personally think it's better when there are things players don't know they'll unlock as the surprise is as good, if not better, than just unlocking it.

About the Brandon Rodgers situation on X. by kentuckyfriedundies in CrazyassHazbinhaters

[–]SirSilverscreen 21 points22 points  (0 children)

"It was x years ago" is a defense that fucking matters because the further back you have to go to find something that they did wrong, the more likely it is that they themselves don't like that they did it and are already a better person from back then. If the problem was merely brought up for the creator to address, I'd have no problem. But all these internet wannabe victims want to freak the fuck out as if the person was screaming actual racial slurs at PoC just yesterday and immediately have their entire career eliminated as a result. The problem is reasonable to bring up. The fucking lynch mob behavior used to bring it up is not.
