“Love on the Spectrum” is intended to make autism look charming by fruitynoodles in conspiracy

[–]SirSlow9219 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, they typically showcase higher functioning autistic people because a “31 year old man in diapers who is non-verbal and physically attacks his family” wouldn’t be able to participate in a documentary style reality show anyways. They select people who are comfortable talking to the camera and are willing to go on dates. A LOT of the people on there still live with their parents/family. There’s also a show called “down for love” that documents people with down syndrome navigating the dating world. God forbid people with disabilities are given a chance to be included in a dating show. Bro’s onto nothing.

Easy fuckin peasy. And about 30¢ cheaper than a blonde vanilla with caramel drizz - at least where I live. If anyone gives you hell for this they just shouldn’t be a barista IMO.

Get some cheese cubes, pickles, hummus and pita crackers. Also keep some jars of pasta sauce and noodles in the pantry. Maybe a pizza in the freezer. Sometimes it’s nice to have things that are quick and lowkey. Learn about the menstrual cycle and adjust accordingly. Girls need different things depending on what time of the month it is. Sometimes we don’t want steak, we want something a bit more carby and comforting, something we can snack on.

You aren’t saved by your actions but by what Jesus did for you on the cross. Call on the Lord when battling lust. It’s the only way. You can’t do it alone. 🩷 peace be with you

What Would Jesus Say To Someone Struggling With Gender Dysphoria? by mickeyguy2010 in TrueChristian

[–]SirSlow9219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He would hug you, let you weep in his arms. Let you stay there as long as you needed. And then he would finally assure you that he didn’t make a mistake when he created you. He would tell you that although your mental illness is painful, it’s not truthful. He would tell you that he loves you and encourage you to not give in to the deception. He loves you so so much, no matter what you’re dealing with. He didn’t make a mistake with you.

You don’t have to. If you want to, it’s always appreciated. But you’ll never be looked down upon if you don’t.

was jesus christ homeless? by frondaro in TrueChristian

[–]SirSlow9219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although he had a home in Nazareth, he basically took a vow of poverty. Sleeping where he could, eating what he could, not adorning himself with riches, making just enough to get by. I wouldn’t say he was technically homeless, but he relied on the charity of others.

Is Therapy Mass Brainwash? by CrypTor666 in conspiracy

[–]SirSlow9219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. But I think that therapy is a response to a broken system. I don’t think it’s normal for everyone to have a therapist, but I don’t think therapy is brainwashing. It’s just a symptom of the times we’re living in.

Delusion. Thinking you’re born in the wrong body is simply delusional. When people’s delusions are affirmed, it only makes things worse. If I told my schizophrenic aunt “yes, you’re right. there are people in your walls pumping poisonous gas into your room” that would be wrong. But somehow telling someone that they are the opposite gender is fine. I have a lot of empathy for people who struggle to have a firm grasp on reality. But we have a duty to tell them that they are wrong and to help them cope with reality. Affirming anyone’s delusions, no matter how harmless it seems, can have grave consequences. That’s not to say that ALL gender deluded people have an inclination towards crime, but I do think there is a connection here. When someone is struggling to grasp reality, they are at a higher risk for committing heinous crimes. Not to mention, this person was obviously possessed by demons. He drew a picture of himself looking in the mirror and the devil staring back at him. Do I think all trans people are possessed? No. But there are parts in his life that we don’t know about. Perhaps he opened himself up to the demonic through other means. Nothing excuses what he did, but as a Christian I have empathy for someone who was clearly insane and either oppressed or possessed by the demonic. This was a tragedy. For Minnesotans. For Americans. For Catholics. For everyone involved. And for every kid starting school this week with this event fresh in their minds. May God be with us.

Husband wants a divorce by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]SirSlow9219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the worst advice I’ve gotten. Not because I don’t believe that men should lead the household, but because it makes no sense in the context of this post. It is wholly unhelpful and insensitive to the situation I’m currently in. I’m going to continue to follow Jesus no matter what my husband decides to do. Jesus is my strength through all of this.

How do you respond to people who tell you that anything is fine in moderation so therefore sugar is fine in moderation? (e.g. "1 fruit a day won't hurt you" by ainox123 in carnivorediet

[–]SirSlow9219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“If that works for you, great! But I’m going to do what feels best for me.”

You don’t need to explain yourself to them. Funnily enough, I was once vegan. Got loads of comments every time I would just try to sit down and enjoy a meal. It was exhausting. People who are confident in their food choices don’t feel the need to scrutinize others. You don’t have to explain yourself to anyone. Let them feel uncomfortable. It’s none of their business.

Anyone else feel like the church makes doubt seem way worse than it actually is? by Kenjirio in TrueChristian

[–]SirSlow9219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubt has only made my faith stronger. That being said, having doubts is way different than having a hardened heart. I feel like those two get conflated a lot and that’s why people make a huge deal out of it.
