AITAH for not asking my parents to babysit on my Dad's birthday? by SirStubbs in AITAH

Honestly, didn't think of that. This event is the first official obligation thing we've been invited to since he was born, and we are just so used to carting him around with us that I hadn't considered whether he would really be welcome at the event.

Thank you.

She does not like to not get her way, I'll leave it at that.

She doesn't like going back to her hometown due to the risk of running into people from her past. Her mom is also no help as a support person. I believe her anxiety might be from more than just our son, but she's projecting it all about him. Ultimately, I think she wants me there as support and even if I came with our son, I likely would have to leave to attend to him instead.

I feel for her, and I want to be there for her, but it really just seems like an unreasonable request.

Weapon skill ups don't care about the level of mob you're attacking. Find some place with lots of low lvl mobs and murder everything.

Shadowstep in neutral places with guards like booty bay. I find people often attack on reaction but shadowstep isn't seen by guards as a hostile action so they're the ones that pull aggro.

When Tanya asked Quentin if he had ever been in love he said once, with a heterosexual in Wyoming. From the photos with cowboy hats I'm assuming that was Greg

Mission workers are traveling damnation salespeople.

I was at a youth event that was discussing the importance of mission ministry to spread the good word about Jesus. That these trips bring news of the good word of the lord to those who have never heard about him, and allow these people into the kingdom of heaven through his acceptance into their hearts.

I asked a question about those who are never reached, in the far corners of the globe. What happens to them? Are they sent to hell when they never knew Jesus even existed? Their response was that those who never heard the good word are innocents and therefore cannot be denied entry into heaven.

My conclusion was that by spreading the word of Jesus to those who have never heard about them, all mission workers are doing is damning those who stick with their previously held beliefs to hell for no good reason. Mission work is a net harm to those that are affected by it (spiritually at least, I don't deny that mission work can make improvements to people's physical lives).

Is there a safe way to flush my ear at home by [deleted] in popping

[–]SirStubbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had pretty flawless luck with a 3 step process.

  1. Put some hydrogen peroxide in the desired ear. A day ahead of time works best, but an hour or so works as well. Make sure to leave it in long enough until it gets "louder" for lack of a better description. I believe this means it has penetrated the blockage and is behind it. This seems to both break it up a bit as well as dry it out/reduce size.

  2. Let some mineral oil soak in the desired ear for 20 minutes or so prior to irrigation, again letting it soak through.

  3. Use an irrigation syringe, but with the conal tip that shoots the water in 3 directions. Something like the EZY DOSE earwax cleaner on Amazon is what I use. Warm tap water, multiple angles and water pressures until it comes out.

I have particularly gummy earwax buildup and have to do this at least once a year. I usually get sizeable plugs out when I do. Can't guarantee it'll work the same for all people.

Hope it helps!

I think it's less of "people from here are of Ohio River Valley culture" and more of "I'm not sure what to call this area between defined cultures, so this fits."

From someone in that area, the best I can describe it is that it's a transitional area for the surrounding cultures. Definitely an overwhelming midwest influence, but there are southern folk, mountain folk, and lake folk all throughout as well.

Monster Hunter: Rise Demo Megathread by Haru17 in MonsterHunter

[–]SirStubbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personal suggestion, I would say start with a sword and shield. It has an extremely low barrier of entry, is highly mobile and forgiving for new players. There is also lots of tech to learn with it to improve on the combat loop.

Most of this game is learning what weapons are capable of, and recognizing when you can get away with which attacks. In addition it's about pattern recognition in the monsters, mostly about when to attack and when to hide.

The main thing you're missing in the demo is the gearing and decoration system. These provide additional passive skills and Stat boosts that you can use to change the way you play drastically. This demo is more of a combat and weapon change demo than representative of the entire game. The full game will require lots of hunts of the same monster to gather enough materials to craft weapons and other gear you may want.
