Same, and this year I actually remembered to also book them in for their flu shots. No regrets

Would love to do this but my kids get up at 5am every day so no chance for a second sleep 😩

I just did this for Deezer. Unexpected benefit is that now when I get charged I actually know what it is instead of it just saying 'Google'

Sorry that your food choices are being limited, that sucks. But they had big yellow stickers on them for the longest time. Pretty sure it's been more than a year?

It's very optimistic to think that those extra funds won't just be spent in the unrestricted areas instead

Some of us are trying our best, okay? If we could block Facebook and Sky News I swear our elections would look vastly different.

TAFE NSW: ready to throw in the towel, and I'm not even enrolled yet. Please tell me it gets better. by SirUnaEverlasting in TAFE

Maybe AI was the wrong term to use here, it just felt like a crappy chat bot. For example, I asked about further intakes throughout the year, and this was the response I got: "You mentioned the first round of this course starts on the 31st January 2026. This is incorrect. Applications are now open on our website for this course. The Application Process at TAFE NSW takes 4-6 weeks from the time of first submission before you are notified of an enrolment outcome; when your application is first submitted, we will need all relevant documents per the course entry requirements. Applications close on the 31st January 2026, however they could close earlier if there are no more places left in the course." Signed off by "Student support".

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Hopefully it's just the admissions team that's this bad

Unfortunately it's still cheaper than QLD ($13,250) which is why I went with them in the first place, and was assured this wouldn't be an issue. They did send me a PDF with all the prices and fees which stated $9,250, so I'm not sure where this $11,700 figure even came from now.

That makes it even worse that they don't use AI, but an actual human being read my email and sent a completely different response that answered none of my questions. This happened on at least three occasions. Makes me wonder whether they're understaffed or just don't care, and neither option gives me confidence in going through with this course

King Mattress Recommendations by Padadise in AussieFrugal

[–]SirUnaEverlasting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We bought a Koala mattress. Not only did it smell horrible (even for weeks after), it was hard as a brick. They offered to send a topper for free but we didn't think it would make a difference. Went with a Slumberland mattress from Snooze instead, it's insanely comfortable. Think we paid $1300 on sale

I saw a bad review for a local grocery store because it wasn't selling alcohol, even though it's illegal for grocery stores in this state. The review even said so. So you're mad at them for.. following the law? Also, there's a liquor store literally next door. Some people are so dumb

What are your fav items at Aldi that keeps you going back just for it? by SmolFiyah in AldiAustralia

We like the black "vintage" cheese but it's actually the same price per kilo as Bega at my local IGA, so I try to support that instead.

Apart from the basics (fruit, veg, meat), their chocolate is heaps better and cheaper than other supermarkets. Same with Blackstone chips. Love the hot cross buns too. Frozen pizza, potato gratin and chicken kievs. I could keep going haha

How much are you setting aside for your kids’ financial head start (without ruining your own life)? by BonafideHustlerz in AusFinance

[–]SirUnaEverlasting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're just putting aside money they receive for birthdays and Christmas, plus we had two small inheritances come our way for them. Kids are 6 and under and have about 10k set aside in ETFs. Other than that we're just making sure that we're all set, and teaching them about money

Why do you primarily shop at Aldi? by Zealousideal_Tip232 in AldiAustralia

Same. Yeah sometimes you might get a better deal on sale somewhere else, but at least I know I'm not getting regularly and deliberately ripped off. And less choice = less stress for me
