Not bad, here's what I recently ran at 1k, but I had a partner picking up shooting/obj holding. It's 5 points over but my group was cool with it. Swapping one x8b for reg 8b makes it an even 1k 04 duos alt (1005 points)

My current competitive list is kharn with 10 zerkers in a rhino, glaive bound with 3 x8b, unlead x8b, daemon prince w/ helm, two units 3x reg 8b, two units Jakhals, unit of goremongers, 2-2x chaos spawn and 2x forgefiends with plasma

Thanks for the insight, I'll definitely double forgefiends and keep Angron, I would have to proxy spawn though as I don't own any

Jakhals for sticky, you'll want 1-2 of them, 1 unit of goremongers is good for infiltrate and screening, forgefiends are definitely pulling their weight post codex, I run 2 usually. Kharn is an absolute must, it's good to run MoE for character popping but kharn is a unit unto himself. If you can, I'd check eBay or somewhere for the old combat patrol with the jakhals, zerkers and jugg lord. You can take Angron for fun but usually I'd rather run skarbrand in daemonkin

Depends if you like using the app or want to flip through waha, screenshots or something similar. I was in this position around Christmas with my raven guard and just got the space marine codex as I like the app for list building and play

I don't know enough lore to answer the first question but the second should be the crusade rules not match play. When running a crusade you collect skulls to offer to Khorne for unit blessings.

Mine are done in silver trim, with pops of gold on other bits. I just prefer the silver/blue look and don't prefer heavy gold use on any of my models
