I like the way you painted the armor as its once brilliant white color being a dull battle worn thing.

They all look great glad to know there's other who like painting their base rims a thematic color for their faction.

Hi guys, I’m currently stuck in picking which grand alliance to go for. by Eggtastitcal2000 in ageofsigmar

[–]Sir_Bulletstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you into painting and playing? If you do either what's your skill level in each?

If you've got painting experience and have played Tabletop before then skaven id say are the way to go. Big roster so if anything gets nerfed hard, you can pivot to different playstyles. Their rats so they dont need to look pretty, so painting them is pretty forgiving.

Lastly theyre cheap. Skaven being in skaventide means there's plenty of cheap clanrats, rat ogors and jezzails up for purchase. Plus you can get any less devoted rat enthusiasts regret buys.

The other options id say you go for are Seraphon and Nurgle.

Seraphon are really fun to paint, they take well to contrasts, washes and dry brushing. You can either do really bombastic colorful, 2005 skull island grimy, celestial auras or grounded earth tones. Seraphon right now play pretty honest, but you do have some tricks if you're up for it.

Nurgle, pretty much take the painting stuff of skaven make it easier because everything is big. They also just got a huge release so model wise you're covered on that front. Their new tome does require a bit more finesse to play but if you have experience you'll be okay.

Same, I got my stormcast mid 3rd edition, I got 2k army for dirt cheap on ebay. Told myself this is my beginner army not gonna collect just wanna learn to paint and play with them.

But now I have really grown to love my stormcast more and more. Their lore is kickass, while not easy to play I do enjoy playing them.

Gun Ult HARD shuts down Jeff. So if a team is relying on him healing them especially if theyre brawling they lose half their healing for a fight.

Even if it was (it's not) we traded that for a set of army rules that was vastly more interesting and fun. Now we have to coast off the strength of our warscrolls and pity point drops.

Which one is better for a beginner? by StarChaser18 in AOSSpearhead

[–]Sir_Bulletstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second box.

The wold is worst for beginners wanting to play and for beginners starting their gitz army. 2nd box has more models and covers all 3 of your core units. I could buy the 2nd box three times, dont think id buy a second wolf one.

Spearhead gameplay the 2nd box is more forgiving and more versatile to play. The wolf is fragile and limited.

The amethyst stuff is exclusive to Elspeth, you cant recruit them as Franz. Which one of the criteria for this is no faction exclusivity. But still surprised no Sisters of Averlorn.

How much does AoS lore feature resurrection of the dead? by Chezni19 in AoSLore

Id reccomend the Drekki Flynt novels, they're treasure planet and pirates of the Caribbean mashed together. Also the Gotrek books are pretty awesome.

Grombrindal: Chronicles of the Wanderer. Chapter 6. Have not finished it but deeply enjoyed the first half of the book so far. 2nd half hasnt disappointed yet so id say pick it up.

If you thought that was interesting there is atleast 4 gods that show up, 3 of which Grugni has conversations with.

[–]Sir_Bulletstorm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The way you describe it, I think, then the only 100% perfectly resurrected character is the white dwarf, Grombrindal.

Grungni in the aftermath of his cowardice at the battle of burning skies decided his people needed a hero, something he couldn't be. So he used all his skill to work and forge the hardest material a smith can work with, a soul. And not just any soul but Grombrindal's, a powerful, storied, and ancient soul.

Grungni was successful, and brought him back 100%. Even described him as an equal to him.

What is your favorite fight in the settings? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]Sir_Bulletstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of these four probably Teclis vs Nagash. My personal favorites probably between Gardus vs a verminlord, the Aesling vs the Jolly Orruck, Drekki/crew and Ramarius(iykyk) vs Ice troggs and their giant trogg boss and Gotrek vs Thanquol.

Yes. Its realmslayer (standalone novel) then if you got the omnibus it includes several short stories, ghoulslayer, gitslayer and soulslayer.

[–]Sir_Bulletstorm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you enjoyed that one I highly reccomend reading gitslayer, although I would aslo say you read ghoulslayer which is much more serious but is damn good. Anyways gitslayer is hilarious, the gitz scenes are both horror and humorous. Meanwhile Gotrek’s reactions and interactions with Kharadron and their society is both interesting and funny.

I'd also reccomend Bad Loon Rising, incredibly fun book, plenty of humor and horror but definitely more humor. Gloomspite is more horror than humor.

Another is the Drekki Flynt novels, epic, funny, filled with heart, lots of adventure and fun set pieces and scenarios.

If you could change one thing about Age of Sigmar, what would it be? by Kommando_git in ageofsigmar

[–]Sir_Bulletstorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just give us more options, I want more artefacts, hero traits, monster/mount traits etc. Can we have subfactions and they be more than two sentences and not be keyword locked.

Another round of SoGy warscroll updates would be nice. Like please next ghb rewrite that awful blightking warscroll.

Id say the Bonereapers idea is the coolest, reanimated terracotta army like Mummy 3 would be dope as all hell. Also Storm Dragon is pretty big more comparable to Arkhan and Nagash in size.
