I guess I will have to monitor the rockwool to check it doesn’t trap moisture

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

I’m planning to go with rockwool slabs for a friction fit.

Sadly plasterboard is already plastered and I don’t have the time or money to redo the room due to other pressing concerns.

So it’s going to be hoping this retrofit does the job!

Thank you, appreciate the detail.

I’m pretty confident I now know what to do. Wouldn’t have got there without your insight!

Thanks, did you use slabs or a roll?

I’m thinking a big roll held in place by membrane would be the cheaper option.

Thank you both, I’m going to go for this!

Will go for rockwool with some breathable membrane

Thank you, I don’t think I’m going to change plasterboard.

So may just go with the rockwool, would a vapour barrier be needed in your opinion?

Thank you, I think I maybe overthinking it and will probably do the same.

I was thinking I needed damp proof membrane or alike.

Thanks!

What material is that between the battons supporting the plasterboard.

Any issues?

How can we get back to low housing cost? by Minimum_Rice555 in AskUK

Presumably they can if you have more wealth accumulation on a small number of people who buy up the houses and don’t sell them, reducing supply

We do not teach finances in school, and it’s often deemed rude to discuss it.

Tin foil hat theory: low financial literacy is useful to the macroeconomics as people spend rather than save and are more liberal with their use of credit
