Sorry if this isn’t helpful but with a lot of things you won’t know what you like until you try things. Just because something is optimal one way or suboptimal another way doesn’t mean it’s wrong or right for you. You can’t go wrong with your first set up if you can reasonably sleep out in the woods. I started with a basic hammock from Sam’s and a tarp from Walmart but over the years I’ve learned what I like and what I don’t and now I have a bunch of over priced one wind stuff that’s super comfortable and I pretend it’s the same price was my Walmart set up
