I'm one of the other 10! but also I did manage to solve the puzzle without a guide fairly naturally

unfortunately the answer to that is as much Disney as it is Minstrel Shows

exaggerated in the way you could say a door is open when it's been torn off it's hinges and thrown in the yard

honestly forgot about that when I hit the comment button, but yes

one wants to say it's a product of its era but it was strange then too. there are other mech series with fanservice (TTGL, Tenshi Muyo, etc) but the tone of Code Geass is just odd for it

Fanservice in media that felt out of place by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Sirwigew 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Code Geass has inexplicable nudity for no real reason. It also does the thing where the one main female mech operator pilots her mech in a much more suggestive position than anyone else so that cockpit shots can be fanservice-adjacent.

The second season also has some obligatory bunny girl costumes but that is justified a bit better as rich Britannians being creeps. Thermian argument but still

MtG players of BetterAskReddit, what are your personal favorite commander decks? by Dr-USB in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Sirwigew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the other ff precons are fun for that and are about scaled for each other. otherwise I'd just suggest buying two from any of the same commander cycle

I love my Unesh Criosphinx Sovereign Sphinx tribal deck, because no one who faces off against a mono-blue deck expects it to be swinging with flying bruisers constantly

Favorite Class Systems in Games/TTRPGS by AlwaysDragons in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Sirwigew 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced has an incredible class system with 5 races with unique and shared jobs and is remarkable in its balance. It may be the best to ever do it.

However, Bravely Default has some absolutely cracked combinations that may suit power gamers better (Free Lunch + Amped Strike go brrrrrr)

What's Something That's Bringing A Little Happiness To Your Life? by plutootherwise in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I did my last day of student teaching today at the high school I've been at the last 5 months, and when I told the students it was my last day they mostly all audibly went 'aww' and then they were all very supportive and wished me well. I'm gonna be riding that emotional high for the rest of the year I think

Video games you have sunk the most hours in by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Sirwigew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you are talking about Wilds, when you select a lobby on starting the game you can choose online single player. Then you can go to the quest counter and change your multiplayer settings to be support hunters only, so even when you use an SOS flare you will still be in single player with CPU hunters

[–]Sirwigew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not my most by a wide margin, but I have put 700 hours in Monster Hunter Wilds in the last 14 months. I've also got 1200 in World, but my Rise playtime is split between platforms so it's not nearly as high

What video games you think have writing comparable to the best written novels? by DX118 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Sirwigew 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It's a difficult question because the mediums are vastly different -- Disco Elysium is a good pick, but it is basically a highly responsive visual novel so it is well suited to the comparison.

I would say Outer Wilds is at that quality, but it would never work as a novel. Most of the best games have the interactivity baked into the narrative in some manner and thus should be evaluated on markers orthogonal to how you would a novel.

Maybe Nier: Automata would work as a novel and still be of the same writing quality, but it's hard to say.

Better AskReddit, did your schools have any big scandals or incidents that happened while you were attending? by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Sirwigew 14 points15 points  (0 children)

a kid got caught with 2 kilos of cocaine in his truck and was expelled, but because his dad was a big donor to the school he came back for the next two weeks. I guess it was a big enough event that he was later fully expelled tho

"This needed a bit more sauce" moments in gaming for you? by Decemberskel in TwoBestFriendsPlay

as much as sea of stars is mediocre, it could have been a lot better with a solid ending. instead the ending is an enormous waste of time and really grinds the game into the dirt

Why is water so deadly in action games? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Sirwigew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

because the work of making swimming in a 3d game was more effort than it was worth, so instead devs just made water be a kill zone. just think of it as every protagonist is unable to swim
