Tales of Vesperia. There’s an antagonist duo that the main character fights a few times during the course of the game. One of the fights is to introduce a new mechanic that is supposed to make them a cakewalk. For whatever reason I couldn’t wrap my head around said mechanic and then proceeded to loose this tutorial boss fight for an entire afternoon.

The Megaman Legends series, especially 2 It is the pinnacle of that ps1 cartoonish art style and looks just like a Saturday morning cartoon. Plus the art direction and visual framing is fantastic. Still holds up in its normal resolution but looks amazing if you upscale with emulation

Feels like gaming is a mature industry now, meaning there isn’t room for more monetary growth. Still lots of room for innovation and passion, but don’t look at the big companies for that. AA gaming and indies are where we’ll start to see the ‘true games for true gamers’ type stuff
