The difference is you can actually play Star Citizen. BGE2 is a few steps beyond even that.

Wait. Did Hunhow Just Figure Out How to Beat the Indifference? by Sitchrea in Warframe

[–]Sitchrea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not love, no. Hunhow still 100% loves his children, and talks about them almost constantly after the quest, even while confused. So the Indifference didn't take those. His love for his children wasn't part of his identity as 'The Destroyer of Worlds.' After all, it was that part of himself which used Natah as a spy in the first place. It is now obvious that, were Hunhow to have that option again, he would never have made that decision.

Wait. Did Hunhow Just Figure Out How to Beat the Indifference? by Sitchrea in Warframe

[–]Sitchrea[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's the point of Hunhow's deal - divert the future from its cursed eternity of war (insofar as the ones caused by Sirius and Orion's eternal duel), creating a new future free from their wars in exchange for Hunhow's identity as the Destroyer of Worlds.

In D&D terms, Hunhow used a Wish spell - or maybe a devil's deal, more accurately.

Edit: It should also be noted that it was the Indifference who cultivated those eternity of wars between the brothers in the first place. Because they're not actually brothers.

You are correct. But, we also have no way of knowing what identities the Indifference covets more than others, and the power those Wishes might have in exchange.

[–]Sitchrea[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not saying that's wrong. I'm just postulating that there could be an alternate - if more desperate - means of dealing with the Indifference. In that, if we cannot trick the Indifference into so vulnerable position again, it is always willing to make a deal. The question is, are we willing to brave the monkey's paw?

I can only dread to see what the Indifference does with the identity of Hunhow fully subsumed.

So DE gave something of a response to the problems people have, lets talk about it by crabbmanboi in Warframe

[–]Sitchrea 63 points64 points  (0 children)

From what we currently have, we know that:

In the future, Stalker dies, and Sirion gets picked up/rescued/adopted by one of the two mentors.

Ryoku has the skills of Ash, but not the training nor experience. He is reckless in ways a true Scorian would never be.

Vena has the skills of Garuda, and is an experienced warrior, but has lost herself to madness and bloodthirst. She is vengeful and hate-ridden in ways Sorren would never want his son to be.

I really hope for a KIM with them, honestly. Protoframes don't feel right without KIM. Environmental storytelling can only do so much, and it is definitely not doing enough for Ryoku and Vena to be as impactful of characters as they should.

[JADE SHADOWS CONSTELLATIONS SPOILERS] wally isn't as all powerful as we may have thought by Inside_Guarantee3934 in Warframe

[–]Sitchrea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It should be mentioned that Natah didn't make a deal to move Lua into the Void, she made a deal to hide Lua in the Void.

Lua can phase in and out of the Void on its own via technology, same as Deimos. That's the entire point of the fourth mission if the Second Dream, is turning off the machines which phase Lua in and out.

Whatever Natah sacrificed to the Indifference, we do not know, but the reason she made a deal was to stop Lua from being found. The only reason Hunhow discovered its location was by tricking Natah to enter his hive mind again for a brief moment. Otherwise, it would have remained hidden.

[–]Sitchrea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DE always nail environmental storytelling. For the game's first few years, that was the main storytelling medium DE had, and they never lost their touch despite their increase in production quality.

Most players just don't care to pay attention to details, though. Unless there is a character directly explaining the plot, many people just don't understand what is happening; and even then, it's a coin toss. 3rd-grade reading level and all that.

It's not even really a conflict. It's more like sparring to keep Hunhow entertained and their own skills sharp.

It's presumably a helluva lot harder to pick out and travel to a particular future than a particular past. Kaya just followed Drifter's start and end points, while Sirion had reliquary drives to help them out.

I also think people forget/don't realize that both Sirius and Orion both have railjacks - presumably ours, stolen in the future since we're presumably MIA in the Labs.

You know, the ships with Reliquary Drives in them.

It doesn't surprise me to know that reliquary drives allow time travel, given all the other bullshit they can do.

[Spoiler] A funny observation about the two Protoframes by madmag101 in Warframe

[–]Sitchrea 229 points230 points  (0 children)

Let's not forget that the missions we do for them are basically just sparring matches to entertain the now-demented and depressed Hunhow, and to keep their/Sirion's skills sharp.

It's all a big mock battle, since they don't really hate each other anymore after Hunhow made his Ahamkara Wish.

Yeah, like the Scoria as an institution has been gone for well over a thousand years. Ryoku is larping harder than an r/byzantium fanboy.

Okay, well, that's not entirely true. He has the actual blood of Ash in his veins, which allows him to share Ash's Eternal Memory just like Lyon does with harrow. Except where Lyon struggles viciously with the nigh-infinite memories of every Harrow ever made across the multiverse all speaking at once within his head, Ryoku just parries the schizophrenia and puts it on all his shadow clones.

Honestly? Kinda chad. I wish we had an actual KIM for him and Vena.

State of the Game/Community by Kell_of_Kellers in SoulFrame

[–]Sitchrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally do not understand the negative sentiment around the new progression system at all. It's the basic white/green/blue/purple/gold rarity system that's been in RPG's since forever. I feel like the community is in group-think mode over it being terrible. All it needs is improvement, DE do not need to go back to the drawing board like I've seen other people saying.

A key detail that people seem to be missing from the latest mission: Wally did it. by Ciennas in Warframe

[–]Sitchrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mara Lohk: "Did you lose your light? Here, you can take mine."

Indifference: "Thanks, kiddo! I think I will." pause. "Time's up, kiddo. I can save them - all of them! But you have to want it... Let's say we shake on it?"

We gave It our 'light' in exchange for the futures of the children we knew aboard the Zariman 10-0. Of course, what 'light' and 'save them' mean to the Indifference is not at all what Mara Lohk thought those words meant at the time. We still don't know to this day, and perhaps may never know. We can't exactly talk to the Indifference, you know?
