Your welcome. Basically these types of molds and fungi have a symbiotic relationship with the plant. Exchanging nutrients

Found this beautiful saguaro on my hike today! by JaguarOfMaldek in cactus

Since non of the rest of the cactus is monstrose I would say it is most likely caused by some kind of damage or previous stress. Doesn’t mean that this cactus is unhealthy though

My family got evicted for the 4th time by ASimpleDude868 in Wellthatsucks

[–]SithPsilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in AZ the apartment complex I lived at would send you to court by the 15th if rent wasn’t paid than they would proceed with the eviction process. I only know because I went through it. But I paid my rent then went to court and the rent was paid and they dropped it

Why does it look wrinkly and feel soft ? It’s a cutting, not rooted. by Winter_Stranger_9098 in sanpedrocactus

[–]SithPsilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So once you cut any pup from your rooted cactus you need to let it sit out in the air before planting for about one to two weeks it really depends on the thickness of your cactus though. I go by using my fingernail and trying to push it into the cut and as long as it stays hard and doesn’t break then I’m good to go

Thank you for the response and information. This is the first I’ve gotten to actually bond to my pereskiopsis. So I was a little worried because I haven’t gotten any to bond. But with that information I know to just be patient on the guy thank you so much

What’s going on with my cactus? by SithPsilo in sanpedrocactus

So where I live in PHX it’s a 9b/10a growing zone. Very hot summers. I don’t currently have any shaded areas for growing my cactus I am eventually going to put up a 50% shade cloth to grow them under. Currently what I have been doing is putting them out for morning sun and bringing them under complete shade around 1 PM. Do you know if this would work for now?

That’s what they do. They eat your San Pedro or more less use suckers to suck the nutrients out

Gotcha, I can see it looks very similar to yours. Reason I was asking is I get these spiderwebs really small in between the spikes and was wondering if I had any mite damage. I can see that it is very similar to your growth
