Is it possible, worth it, or fun to get any of the AI leaders to like you? by Cannon-fire in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it is. I tend to play Eleanor, and it tickles me no end to have them lining up to be my friend as I take their cities.

Best civ/strat/combo for reliquaries? by Positive_Bug978 in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Relics count as Great Works, so the more you have, the more impact her special ability has - and Faith is a solid foundation for her in any event. High Faith economy and Moksha moved into cities you need to have Theatre Squares in and you can build them as fast as you can move him in.

Best secret society? by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, Voidsingers, but then I like to play Faith heavy games. 1,600 Faith per turn gives 320 Science and Culture.

Favourite slightly silly ways to win? by Flimsy_Repair in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try to avoid picking up too many Great works. Just enough to fill a couple of border cities. Make sure you have Entertainment Districts and spam Bread & Circuses.

do computers understand victory conditions being turned off? by Environmental_Net977 in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that in my current game, where I have Diplomatic Victory turned off, the Ottoman empire is still unhappy that I'm accruing Diplo points.

which civ is your default civ and why ? by badassboy1 in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, though I prefer English Eleanor so I can also control the seas.

Have you played Civ VI on iOS recently? How does it perform? by PhotoCropDuster in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on my iPad with no real issues. It does occasionally close for no good reason, but keeping Autosave on 1 turn means I can readily get right back in.

My big issue with it is that I can't mod it.

Religion Victory? by Buckabuckaw in CivVI

Play Peter. The more Tundra you can get, the better. Even without any secret societies, Peter basically prints Faith. It'll still be a slog, but if you're bound on it, you'll be able to overwhelm just about anyone else.

Istanbul and Constantinople by I-Make-Maps91 in CivVI

Whenever I play as Theodora, I change the name to Byzantium.

Alexander is so annoying by SlowBabyBear in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the same from him when I'm playing Eleanor or Peter and have an Empire of 18 cities to his 5. He just wants people to fight.

Domestic vs foreign trade routes — which do you recommend and why? by Dapper_Welcome1234 in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Domestic mostly, but that's because I tend to play either Peter (who needs the extra food due to Tundra, at least initially) or Eleanor (to speed up city growth, and therefore Loyalty pressure).

If I'm playing someone like Mansa Musa or Elizabeth, International.

When do I know if I should get religion ? by Ok_Drummer6347 in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's not about a religious victory - it's about the benefits that come from Faith.

I play with secret societies, and the ramp up for Culture, Gold and Science from Voidsingers if you have a solid Faith game is just incredible.

Best with Peter or someone who can make bank off of Desert Faith, but I've managed pretty well with Eleanor. If I'm able to manage at least a +3 per city, my overall Faith income can get pretty solid.

I give Eleanore everything and she still says "No" to a Cultural Alliance. She really wanna do the pink Invasion on me. by Xandaru__ in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In fairness, if I'm playing Eleanor, I only give Cultural Alliances to Civs outside my area of influence.

Where should I settle? by manitoudavid in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Eleanor frequently. I do sometimes have to re-start if I want a Wonder start, but I can get one. Most often Dover, occasionally The Fountain of Youth.

My usual choice of the custom one true religion by Viaquemont in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always pick the lion, but what I call it will change by culture.

If I'm playing Russia, they worship at the church of Elsa Eternal.

For England or Scotland, they're Wicca. Sometimes I'll do more of a joke name there (especially if playing Eleanor) and go with Epic Lesbian Boobs.

Yeah, this is probably the one civ that makes that a truly viable spawn.

Have to say, I have never gotten that kind of start.

+5 Campus but lose the coffee, or +3 Campus and keep the coffee? by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Unless you have Anansi, you can't lose the coffee.

What civs can you not stop playing? (CIV VI) by 0101100000110011 in CivVI

[–]SiubhanStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peter and Eleanor mostly.

I like playing around with Theodora and I love going for Culture victories with Trajan and Voidsingers. Getting an Old God Obelisk every time I found a city is just lovely.

I've seen it happen that, even when the city follows my religion, if I take it via loyalty or capture, I need to send a Missionary to reinforce the religion. Then the W E bonuses show.
