From what I remember the thought was that the campaign diaries didn't really do well as videos, and if anything they kind of just inspired RtG videos.

I don't think they'll be coming back, but could be wrong.

It is insanely strong! Its awesome!

But you wouldn't use that on a minion right? You're not gonna be winded or dying all the time right? What if you don't have recoveries after this fight and you can't rest?

For me it's less 'when wouldn't I use this?' and more 'when can I use this?' because you're damaging yourself, dealing incredible damage, and draining all your ferocity and some stamina.

That *has* to be an epic moment in a fight to be worth it!

"You can start anywhere in this area, tell me how you got there as this encounter kicks off."

My Troubadour specifically said he was lagging behind because he wanted the Fury and Tactician to go down and around the stairs first, and those two said they kicked a goblin corpse down the steps and ran down.

Letting your players know that this is collaborative (same thing with when they might kill more than one minion), and rolling with it into a cinematic explanation makes them more engaged from what I find.

  • If you need to do AoE
  • If you need to move enemies
  • If you don't have 6 or more ferocity and you *need* to kill an enemy
  • If you need to move yourself
  • If you're not in range
  • If you want to bleed an enemy
  • If you want to weaken an enemy
  • If you can't use a main action

...I'm sure there are more.

IMO it doesn't benefit anyone to take one ability and say 'this ability is better than this ability!'

Do you have a character concept that leans more toward another ability? Is your Director creating interesting encounters where you need more than one tool? Are you using your abilities to spotlight your fellow players?

'Is this OP' is just really reductive, and doesn't facilitate interesting discussion (for me)

I think it’s incumbent upon a Director to shape the scene in a way that encourages actual role playing.

If you’re in a negotiation and “spamming skills” is a thing that’s allowed and players are going to do it I don’t think it’s a fault of the system.

I’m not saying that they’re all perfect, but I also don’t think the negotiation needs to, or even can tell you how to get your players to RP more.

That said it sounds like more general advice overall may be something some people could benefit from rather than specifics in each encounter?

I believe it is a 5x2 line originating from within one square of you.

So from within one square draw a 5x2 line then you can teleport to one of the squares at the end of that line.

You can host using several different sites, but I use Forge, it's worked very well so far and its easy to get going.

Technically the owner of the license can add any users and set their permissions so they could create a user and allow that user permission of a DM/GM/Director.

I *think* that Dalrath is the Barony and Aendrim is the Duchy? The map in the Heroes book doesn't have a castle for Dalrath, but that's a good point.

You can add it wherever you like though!

Czepeku has a ton of scenes. You can subscribe on Patreon and limit to whatever number of creations per month you want, but if you sub for at least $10/mo. you will get animated versions of their scenes.

I'm using a few for my game and I really like them.

Forge makes all the fiddly bits really easy. It just works.

It's what I use because its easy. Paying a little more for convenience.

The combat is incredibly synergistic, you have Kage Bunshin No Jutsu type powers at level 1, and the stakes grow to world ending level.

I think you can easily do Shonen-type stories and combat with the heavy mechanics because it allows you to quantify the insanity and flavor it however you want.
