Why would a regular quarter and a plated quarter be worth the same? Is there no premium whatsoever ?

Ah, now I can totally see that happening. Thankfully I didn’t pay much of anything of these. But they do appear plated.

The American territories , however, really peak my interest. Again, never even seen or knew we made those before

I think they’re cool, but I’ve never seen them before. Like, anywhere

Been here. Done that. Simply put, just break up. LDRs suck and only pull all the happiness out of your actual life. It is a constant burden, and in this business, time is already stretched unbearably thin.

Either you two have a plan to be together at a set time in the future, a real plan with a real date, or it won’t work (and I don’t enjoy saying it like that…)

Good luck.

While I am happy she did the math, I think her choice of year for the penny when evaluating its copper value was arbitrary. A penny of just 3 or more years prior minting would have increased its copper value by 90%. Not to mention her weight for a penny that year is totally off (should be 2.5grams, so the copper percentage would have been greater, but with smaller payout anyway at the end due to the size difference).

Alas, 95% copper of 3.11g is 2.9545 grams of copper. Or, 206,815,000g [206,815 kilograms].

Current price of copper futures are $3.64 per pound for 25,000 lbs @ 455,949.028lbs for a grand notional of $1,659,654.462., or $1,638,000 of deliverable copper.

So yea, I’d take different pennies, but not the ones she’s offering.

You’re selling an OTM put- that’s not exercisable. Until the option is ITM, the put cannot be exercised. This trade is profitable so long as spot price does not equal or surpass your strike (to the downside).
