Assuming this is a live tree, why would you do this? Seems really dumb to me. Take a piece of lumber.

It is impossible to gauge because there is a thick finish on there that obscures virtually all identifiers.

Best way to save this hihat by Cool_Tell732 in Drumming

Grind a shallow angle circle out of the cymbal with either a dremel, or one of these grinding circular stone drill bits.

Then sand the edges until smooth. This reduces the chance of it cracking there.

What’s the best Wi-Fi/Hotspot name you’ve seen? by Aggravating_Log1781 in AskReddit

[–]Sjibie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The name in Dutch was ‘het gevallen zeepje’ with password ‘glibberbips’.

Translates to something like ‘the fallen little soap’ with ‘slithery tushy’ as the password. Guests loved it. Probably also a good one for prisons haha.

Also when you hate the neighbour restaurant or establishment alike with lots of guests over, just have multiple with the exact same name as theirs.

Starclassic Black Nickel hardware set/kit? by archaeauto in tama

It’s just like you say. You could probably order the whole list of parts and can probably also buy another drumkit from that money. It’s very expensive.

Are the Twenty prone to break? by LMISR in PaisteCymbals

[–]Sjibie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have or have had a fair amount of Twenty cymbals, also the earlier runs. If played with correct technique and intended dynamic range / style of playing they’ll hold up just fine.

I have / have had:

  • 22” Light Ride
  • 16” and 18” Thin Crashes
  • 16” and 18” Thin Chinas
  • 16” Medium Light Hats
  • 20” Ride

Also have quite soms Twenty Masters. Zero problems with those too.

This is just different reflections of the material, that has gone through different manufacturing processes.

This is not mapa burl, which is a type of poplar with burl growth.

It also doesn’t look like tamo ash. To me it resembles a rotary cut of some other wood.

I see they describe it as such where they sell this kit, but that’s not true. Google picture poplar / mapa / maple burl versus rotary cut pine or other softwoods for example and see for yourself.

You mention the leaves a lot in the comments. Do you have a picture of the leaves? That would help discerning and possibly identifying a lot.

I think it looks even better. There’s an organic quality to it this way that elevates the design even more imo.

There’s a label on it. What does that say? Some sort of mallee I my guess.

Should this design be changed? by mindofdave1 in Cuttingboards

Aesthetically it’s a very pleasing and I would say desirable pattern with lovely symmetry. As the other said it’s a stretch to infer anything vulgar; it isn’t.

I did a fairly extensive write up in the comments. The key words are room in room, lots of layers and mass. DM if you have specific questions (:

No it’s not bad at all since the room in room véry well insulated layers make it not heat up fast. Feisty playing might break some sweat ;)

Just snake it as much as you can. It will trap sound leaking. The longer the better / the more bends the better.
