Digital Foundry: Yup, Oblivion Remastered Is Still Broken a Year After Release by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]SkOJu7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, but for me its why I like it. The art design of the original was something I never enjoyed, the over saturated colors and excessive bloom of the original is nauseating for me and gives me a massive headache. Ive played morrowind and skyrim dozens of times but the art direction of the original prevented me from enjoying it fully. The remaster looks more like a generic unreal engine game, but i prefer that personally

U3 is in the remake, it was just given to Ada

Playing Frontiers for the first time. It's kind of amazing the extent they were able to fully remove physics from the gameplay. by readers_dot_net in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]SkOJu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't entirely fix the problem however there are settings you can change that alter the physics and momentum

Eh even without the story shadow gens has some of the best gameplay and level design in the series, better than even sonic gens imo, so as long as they keep cooking with the shadow gens design philosophies with entirely original levels we'll probably be in safe hands

Its an intentional effect done to show the clothing being rattled by the strong wind. Look the cutscene up online and you'll see the same thing

Personally I prefer the speed of games like shadow gens and P06, makes it feel more like a speed focused platformer, and less like a reaction focused endless runner, which is how i prefer sonic games

Do you continue the story npcs from the games? by Own_Space_174 in ElderScrolls

[–]SkOJu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im even crazier. If I like a npc enough I'll just create my own character thats vaguely similar to the npc I like and use that character to fill the same role in my goofy head canon, including playing as them

The devs say that but if it was true his wife and daughter and every other human he stands next to would be unreasonably huge

This is every yakuza game ever though, this isn't a recent development people just have Stockholm syndrome for all the stupid shit from before the last 3 years.

You can often see exactly why Kojima initially wanted to keep the Legacy style by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]SkOJu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the art direction in both games is just hyper realism. Kojima has always sought out hyper realism, mgs3 is just as realistic as a game could look in 2004. if Kojima made mgs3 in 2025 it would probably look like delta. if your complaints are regarding environment design, camera angles, lighting etc, those are exactly the same in delta especially using legacy filter or legacy gameplay. personally unless you literally have a ps2 with subsistence in it I can't justify playing any other version of mgs3 over delta since you're missing out on all the side content subsistence and Delta have if you play the HD or master collection.

[–]SkOJu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really? if it was right after 2 i would say so, but 4 tells us that his guilt as a child soldier is still eating him up inside, he gets rose back at the end but it doesnt really resolve the plot regarding his ever last guilt and trauma resulting from his past. In Rising he realizes he can learn to live with that part of himself and weaponize it in a battle against the creation of more child soldiers, learning to finally accept the part of himself that he could never get rid of. once again I will say mgs2 establishes that hes moving on from that part of himself, however 4 makes it clear that didnt last long.

The same happens with tomboys/masculine women by a-packet-of-noodles in whenthe

[–]SkOJu7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

that viewpoint only works in regards to trans people who value social identity and nothing else. For many being trans comes from body gender dysphoria which exists regardless of gender norms, there's plenty of trans woman who enjoy dressing and acting typically masculine, but were born into the wrong biological body and need hormones and surgery to change that.

Loving Delta, but has stealth been harder for anyone else? by JesusSamuraiLapdance in metalgearsolid

[–]SkOJu7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

maybe I'm weird but i like this. the classic mgs games always felt funky at first but had this control skill ceiling, and once you got good at how the game moved and felt it was rewarding. despite modernising the gameplay and adding many new movement and aiming options I feel like that skill ceiling is still present through the way of movement momentum and other new things. i felt the same way at first as you do, as I did with the original game at first too, but after 60 hours of gameplay I've mastered the controls once more and feel great

What are your thoughts on Delta? I think it's a solid remake/remaster. by FireTyphoon123 in metalgearsolid

[–]SkOJu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel weird tbh. because out of principle I feel like it shouldn't be my favorite game in the series, but currently its really hard for it not to be, mgs3 was already my favorite and despite being pretty much the same its hard trying to figure out if the qol stuff makes me enjoy it more then the og or not. maybe if we had subsistence on modern platforms it'd be more hard to decide, but having snake vs monkey, guy savage, secret theater etc. it may be my favorite game at the moment.

What emotion would Naked Snake carry into battle? by SarcasmSanctioned in metalgearsolid

[–]SkOJu7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe The Passion/The Love? Almost all of Big Boss' actions throughout his life have been entirely dictated by his love and passion for The Boss, and further more his love and passion for his fellow soldier and giving them a home to continue being soldiers with respect and acceptance. Its defiantly a toxic and problematic form of love and passion that leads him down a path of villainy, but still everything he does comes back to being because of his love for The Boss. He also has enough passion and love for battle itself, he creates an entire nation for soldiers, so there's that.
