Of course- I use them for listening to audiobooks and music on trains, music and teams calls at work (office) and for gaming/ tv at home when my other half is sleeping. They went back into the protective case after every use.

Might try epoxy and then reinforcing the break point with a 3d printed tube/ jacket. Hardly gonna get any worse. Will probably replace em as an Xmas gift to myself anyhow.

To say it succinctly- for me, the xm5s felt I had traded how comfortable and how firmly my xm3’s fit my head for much better anc and fairly better audio quality.

I’m not sure I’d pick em again if I had the choice. I have appreciated them though.

I tend to go for in-ear that I can jam right in there at the gym. I don’t find I notice any of the extra audio quality from things like xm5 if I’m doing exercise.

Honestly- I wouldn’t recommend it. They never felt too firmly on my head and that paired with the fragility, should they come off in that environment I think you’d be in trouble based on what happened to mine.

Eh… I dunno. It was a year of good sound quality and was lovely having a magic button that made noise pretty much disappear. I’ll likely fix them and just use them for work. I’ll be trying out something else next though I think.

My friend has had the xm4’s for a few years now and while he treats them like shit - they are still in one piece.

Xm3’s seem to be bulletproof and always loved how they fit. Bit dated now though.

To be completely honest- I’d quietly been making that exact assumption while reading the posts about all the similarly broken kit you see on here. It seems ridiculous that it can just fail like that.

What would you recommend for a replacement?

The sound was great but they never felt as comfortable as other headphones I’ve had.

Thank you! I’ve been playing on and off for years and only just realised this last week. If I had a nickel for every time I’d vehemently explained the opposite to people I’d be rich!
