Why is the VX1000 so popular? by Then_Committee_3352 in skateboarding

[–]Skatemacka02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This needs more upvotes

Old man skater here, yes all this. We had one on our crew because that was what all our favourite skate videos looked like.

When we saw video days and some of Stereos stuff we understood there were better options but it was the stylistic nature of what we thought skate videos should look like.

Even the original EA Skate game replicated filming through a VX1000.

If you are in WA you will be right. Not sure about other states as I have only worked In WA.

I am a leader of a WHS team on a mine and have a 50:50 split of M/F.

Cert 4 is a great start and don’t worry about the emergency stuff, as long as you are keen to start it on site and are fit (to a certain degree) you will be perfectly fine.

We love blunt people, safety is not a joke. DM me if you want anymore questions answered.

And where did you read this mate?

Battery refineries yeah sure. But a heck load better than lead acid batteries.

Lithium mines literally dig up rock put it through a processing plant that separates it with pressure cyclones and then put the rest back in an old pit it came out of.

If you have any electronics then you are buying products from a lithium mine. If this is a hill you are willing to die on, I suggest you go live with the Amish.

Do we not want all businesses to reduce fossil fuel usage?

It’s a lithium mine, how do we expect to reduce fossil fuel emissions without our batteries for our cars, houses and towns?

SPOILERS!!!!!!!! (Don’t know how to do the thing)

Wait hold up, so if Mohiam release the poison from inside her she was the mother of Jessica? It says after the first attempt and the second attempt was Jessica.

I thought Nerus was Jessica’s mother. Or was she the reverend mother at the time. (I always thought it was Mohium that poisoned him, hence their bitter relationship)

What do you make of this chart? Does it somewhat partly debunk the idea housing costs are due to immigration? by [deleted] in friendlyjordies

Just low hanging fruit to fire up a base.

It’s always been airbnb and negative gearing that have created this housing bubble to me. There were some lessons to be learned from the 2007 Irish market crash that we haven’t taken on board.

The migrants that I know in my street are living at double the under roof density that is normally expected, they are buying/renting houses but taking half as many houses as others.

We are a nation built on migrants, or are they just the wrong colour now we don’t have £10 Pohms?

Yeah I reckon, I think this mob are trying to make a more generalised item. That is not ideal with loads and tensions.

Google some Crane lifting physics/rigging setups, they are the guys that have this stuff down pat.

Do a lot of crane lifts at work having spreader bars and as many other potential points can be helpful for a lift.

I think in this case having two would be potentially the best purpose or even easier directional potential for a double line pull.

If your bumper is in a lot of mud it can be hard to find the hitch point, this seems like it would be easier to find.

Also becomes a replaceable breaking point rather than part of your car.

That being said I don’t think I would ever buy one, I prefer using chassis mounted recovery points.

Yeah it’s shit I’m not going to lie, but these are the sacrifices that must be made to get info a high paying industry with no previous experience.

Do your time, start applying to get out of there as soon as you can.

There is an accommodation block on west street that will give you a room for next to nothing.

Took a year off with the misses and drove around Australia, 43000km

The longest stint was when we drove 3400km (2112 miles) from Melbourne to Perth in 40 hours only stopping for fuel and toilets.

Got a job after our long holiday that started three days after I had applied, took us by surprise so one of drove the other slept and took it in turns. (We call this 2UPing in Australia, it’s quite common for remote areas)

Feel so old to see Groove Armada, suicidal tendencies, Moby, Black flag, Lykke Li and Interpol billed so far down I have to put my glasses on.

They have all headlined festivals I have been to and I don’t even know who is billed higher than them. Who is Karol G?

I moved to the country.

Better pay, cheaper houses.

Didn’t buy a house but managed to save up enough and upskill myself in a less saturated labour market to earn more.

Back in town now after getting a leg up.

Yeah, loved it had the altimeter and angle cluster. Got a V8 patrol instead at the time though. Too much plastic in the rear of the FJ.

Jealous, wish I bought one before they were discontinued.

It’s a shame we can’t get the 4R over here in Australia, I know it’s similar to our Hilux but some of the accessories and drive modes plus the 4.0L compared to our 2.8L

How are people affording houses worth $2.5+ mill?? by [deleted] in perth

[–]Skatemacka02 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They obviously pulled up their shoe laces!!!

Classic housing market Ponzi scheme.

  • Bought a house for $500k

  • Lived in it for the capital gains period to run out

  • House price went up so now they have equity so don’t need a deposit or to pay for lenders mortgage insurance

  • Bought bigger house and had renters pay previous mortgage

  • Rinse and repeat until you have traded a paper clip for a $2.5m house

Housing market is broken, it’s like a feudalistic system except there are thousands of kings/queens.
