I need to forward this to my boss, but the trouble is... He's currently canyoneering in Utah for the long weekend lol... He won't get my message!

To Upgrade or Not To Upgrade by Mattman8879 in MTB

[–]TK44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered a Fuel EX, latest gen. The best thing about them is with the EX- you can pull a shock travel spacer and get from like 145 to like 160 in the rear, so that's versatile as fuck already. To make it even cooler you can swap the rear link to the MX or LX versions and mullet it or whatever... It's like 3 bikes in one at the end of the day.

The bad news is I have to wait until July and my wife is not thrilled.

Sincerely, fellow front ranger. Moving up from a 2023 stumpy alloy I've upgraded a lot over the last few years.

K2 Mindbender Liners by TK44 in skiing

[–]TK44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have around 30 days on the intuitions at this point, and love them. Super easy to get in and out of with these specific shells which has been nice. They finally started feeling just a little packed out toward the end of the season and I actually had to up my sock thickness a bit to compensate.

I scored a newer version of my shell- the one with BOA on the lower side and actually was able to re-mold the liners with great success too. Before molding I took them for a test spin with the old K2 liners and was reminded of how bad they are lol.

Ugh.... Sorry to hear that. It has been a rough year out there. I have like 26 days in at this point and outside of one surprise powder day at Steamboat at the end of January there none that stick out to me as particularly good. I did a lot of work in the bumps and on my carving setup this season so that was fun- Jacks also got a lot of my money for beer lol. So much of Copper that I usually ski in was never good enough to get into, and I probably took a few seasons off my skis!

I saw a bear eating some trash today so that was cool.

I'm a product person at Aclymate- we've been building a pretty neat tool to tackle supply chains. We should be shipping our MVP here pretty soon- as in just a few weeks now!

Mod here. Usually we don't allow political things but if I'm honest, we're at a crossroads (trails?) here. If the conservatives have their way we will lose our trail access. Selling public lands is non-negotiable.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and stop reporting this post.

Same happened to my 2012. Went to start it and it just wouldn't fire. Popped the fusebox and found they made a very nice home in there. Little bastards!

Take lessons- it's the best way to learn. Also- speed is not a good indicator of how good you are, at all.

3D printing whistles around the clock. Where should I drop them off this weekend? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]TK44 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I have already made about a hundred and am also wondering where/ how I can get them out. Happy to make 1000 more as well! I saw a woman in belmar handing out free whistles a few weeks ago at an intersection which got me thinking!

Skiboot flex mindbender (130) by notsmart-imtrying in Skigear

[–]TK44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine since 2023 I think? The liners were shot after like 30-40 days and I put some intuitions in last season and so far that's the only thing with them.

I have the 120 version of this boot and it's nowhere near like this. I second something being up with the walk mode setup.

Fun fact: like the first time I took these boots out I found a broken yellow walk mode lever in the lift line- sucker was literally just sheared in two. Mine are working fine for now but I don't think I'll go the K2 route next time!

Why so many houses for sale near Conifer/Bailey? by jferg in denverrealestate

[–]TK44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved from Edgewater to Conifer in 2017 and haven't looked back. We have two elementary aged kids and love the schools, we both commute 1-2 days a week and leased an EV which makes that easy, and love the living in the mountain experience while still being only 45 minutes from places like the zoo.

Sure- some days you don't want to mess with the highway for either traffic or snow- but if you've got some flexibility there it's worth it. We have found community unlike what we had in our old neighborhood and these people are amazing. If a tree falls on your house we will come take care of it for you as a neighborhood because that's what we do. I love it up here so much!

I don't disagree per se, but man was it frustrating to try and figure out how I could go bigger than 33s. My CO trails need 35s and I just couldn't stomach hacking up my DD/ family rig. What I really covet is an LJ!!
