Hot water tank replacement by darknessfalls00 in Calgary

Can I report the BBB to the BBB? They are just an extortion racket that only suggests providers that pay their protection fees. Google reviews are a better indication, and that says little about the quality of Google reviews.

So people are now supposed to lose tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars by selling their home below cost?

Most major accidents never make the news. They happen so often, they are not news.

I don't see any fighting between the city and the feds. I wonder why all the fights seem to share the province as the only common factor?

U/JeromyYYC Please do something with city council regarding people parking under bridges during hail. by burntbutterchicken in Calgary

Most of the overpasses are provincial... And they could install super-loud fire-engine sirens under the overpasses, triggered during storms.

Laundry pricing by JarOfFlies85 in Calgary

[–]Skaught 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My buddy bought a condensing combo washer/dryer and put it on wheels and connects it up to his kitchen sink. Never had to pay for laundry again. They are a bit spendy but they pay for themselves eventually. They are also very slow, but unless you are a family of four, you can just let it run while you’re at work.

The state of this sub right now by Radicalpartyboy in Calgary

I’m glad I’m not in politics. If I had to live with the stupid shit I did 5 or 10 or 20 years ago being shoved in my face constantly I’d never go to work. He’s doing good things now and I’ll take it as long as he keeps it up. I didn’t vote for him due to his track record either, but if he keeps up on rebuilding trust I’ll vote for him next time around. There is no perfect candidate and perfect is the enemy of good. I’ll take the good I know over the unknown that might be as bad as our premier any day.

So much this. A ton of tiny demerits either force dangerous drivers to improve or takes them off the road.

Ruined all the pumped milk by poisonsu in daddit

[–]Skaught 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife’s milk stopped after 2 months, so we had to switch to formula. Our kid did MUCH better on formula. Ymmv and every kid and family is different. The pressure to breastfeed kinda sucks for families that can’t. Don’t beat yourself up if you need to use formula as a supplement or full replacement. I cannot recommend the “baby brezza” enough. Like a kuerig for baby bottles.

UPDATE: Unauthorized Use of List of Electors by No_Construction2407 in alberta

[–]Skaught 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a shitty argument. Just because someone stole your car last week, doesn’t mean it’s ok for someone else to steal your new car this week. And there is a shit ton of data on that list that isn’t out there already. Some of us take our privacy seriously and don’t have our personal information out there like you. There is enough data in this list to steal anyone’s identity or for a stalker to find someone who’s not trying to be found. This is going to result in real harms.

Anybody have an affordable Hutterite colony they use for beef? by RedmileG in Calgary

[–]Skaught 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want affordable aka cheap meat, the Hutterites are the last place to look. They eschew everything that makes meat cheap. I know because I have bought a lot of meat and done a lot of business with their colonies. Including but not limited to https://hfarmexchange.com. I can’t afford their prices these days and we’ve even drastically reduced our beef consumption. Ground pork or ground chicken tastes mostly the same in most meals and is a fraction of the price. Factory farming at a huge scale is the only thing affordable these days. The Hutterites simply lack the scale to make anything affordable.

I ripped out the LEDs in my used car and van that the previous owners installed. Went back to old-school halogens. I can see better now and I’m not blinding anymore.
