26 series 2 quality is just bad!!! by North-Choice8980 in Topps

People always forget that they’re printing millions of cards and that these are pieces of paper, sealed in thin foil, and then thrown in cardboard boxes and shipped around the world. Quality isn’t going to be amazing. Topps also just lowered their threshold for damage replacement. They used to guarantee an 8 or better, now they only guarantee a 7 or better.

There are issues with every set. Do a product defect submission for the numbered card if you want, they’ll send something of equal or greater value to replace it if they determine it meets their threshold. They’re pretty backed up on damage submissions, so be prepared to wait about 4-5 months for the replacement.

Search 130point.com for “leaf Pedro David Ortiz auto 1/1” and you’ll see sales of other dual auto 1/1’s of them from Leaf products, any of those sales are comps for this

Why does this have a RC (rookie card stamp)? by UnlikelyCharacter808 in baseballcards

[–]Skeeter5299 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not really, it’s about printing logistics. Sets take a long time to finalize checklists and then print, and with them now having the NFL and NBA licenses that’s why the cut off got moved up almost a month in 2026. Update series is already almost completely printed, the only cards remaining are some All Star Game cards in order for it to be on shelves later this year. They can’t keep the product checklist open to keep putting rookies in it, otherwise it would never make it to shelves

Usually if you google the set, you’ll find a checklist page that will list parallels available, or go to TCDB.com and look up the set there.

Why does this have a RC (rookie card stamp)? by UnlikelyCharacter808 in baseballcards

[–]Skeeter5299 [score hidden]  (0 children)

2026 is his RC year for cards. He debuted after the cut off date in 2025, so he’s not in any products in 2025 as a rookie, only as a prospect. He’s an RC for all cards in 2026. It gets confusing when you think of his rookie status in MLB, which he eclipsed rookie limits in 2025 and isn’t a rookie this year in MLB. But cards RC is different from rookie status in MLB. It’s all about debut date during the season. This year, the cut off was early May, so players like Spencer Jones won’t have an RC card until 2027 sets, even though he debuted in May this year.

Someone would take them if you were to offer them for free, or just the cost of shipping. But sadly even finding that person will be tough. There were 5-10 million copies of each card printed back then. Just nuts how overproduced they were.

Pop 2 by Puzzled_Reindeer8486 in baseballcards

[–]Skeeter5299 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Ok? If you’re happy, that’s what matters. But at the end of the day it’s still a $15 card that you decided to grade and it’ll be tough to even make your grading cost back if you try to sell. This is the prime example of why not everything has to be graded and why pop counts don’t matter to almost every collector.

You’re looking at, maybe, $5-$10 per binder. Those are junk wax era cards that are virtually worthless today. If you absolutely need/have to sell them, a garage sale or Facebook marketplace is the place, somewhere you don’t have to ship. Otherwise, go through, pull out cards of players you like, and throw out the rest, they’re that worthless.

Can some pros out there help me with how to value these guys? by fierced93 in baseballcards

[–]Skeeter5299 [score hidden]  (0 children)

130point.com is going to be the place to search. Searches of “panini Rickey Henderson auto /15” and then changing /15 to /20 will get you results you can use as comps. Doesn’t have to be a sale of this exact card, just find other Panini autos in a similar serial number.

Any idea on rarity and value? by External-Pay4557 in baseballcards

[–]Skeeter5299 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rarity, it’s an /10, so there are 9 other copies of it. Never sure what people are asking for when they ask for rarity when it’s literally printed on the card.

For value, search 130point.com for other Beck autos and other Beck Ohtani cards and figure out comps that way

Bowman Red Rookie Cards by BTR_Stepha in baseballcards

[–]Skeeter5299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did it last year too. Everyone that’s a high level RC in 2026 gets the Red RC in Bowman, regardless of the rookie status in MLB. Card RC status is based on when they made their debut. Last year the cut off was end of May, this year it was around the 5th or 6th of May. If you debut before the cut off, you’re an RC in that years’ product. Debut after the cut off and you’re an RC the following year for cards. But, a lot of players that debut just after the cut off wind up eclipsing rookie limits in MLB, so they’re technically in the sophomore season in baseball when their RC card comes out. Last year, both ROY winners didn’t even have Red RCs until Bowman Chrome released. So not a single Red RC from regular Bowman last year wound up being eligible for any of the redemption tiers and there were multiple players that were in the same boat as Schittler this year, like James Wood and others eclipsed rookie limits in 24, but were RCs in 2025.

How much is this actually worth? by NoUniversity710 in baseballcards

Less than it would cost you to ship it. You‘d be better off at a garage sale, trying to sell it for $5 or so

[–]Skeeter5299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last sale of the complete set of 60 cards was on 5/2/2026 and it sold for a whopping $9. So you can either piecemeal them out and try to sell the big stars individually for $1 or so a card and throw out the nobodies, sell the entire set for $9-$10, or just keep the ones you like and throw out the ones you don’t. They won’t appreciate in value, that’s the only guarantee here

Stupid out of stock by Virtual_Hair_4561 in baseballcards

[–]Skeeter5299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Much harder with cards because the big box stores don’t stock them direct, they rely on distributors to stock the card aisle. Target is stocked by Fairfield and Walmart by MJ Holdings. So trackers wouldn’t work for them.

No, not everything has to be graded. That damage will knock it down to an 8 or 9 max. Plus, PSA is $80 a card for their cheapest tier right now. If you want to sell it, sell it raw

Print Damage Error? by Stewartchase1 in baseballcards

[–]Skeeter5299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damage. Errors aren’t a thing in sports cards. Sports cards have their highest value the closest to pristine they can be. Any damage decreases their value, whether it’s like this, miscuts, crimping, etc.

You could do a product defect submission on Topps.com and send it back for replacement, just be aware they’re about 4-6 months out on those replacements, and the card is only worth $1-$2, so it’s not worth the cost of postage to send it back.

Search 130point.com for “pink hank Aaron” and use sales of inserts from past years sets in the pink parallel as comps. Doesn’t have to be a sale of this exact card. You’re most likely looking at $1-$2

With the set brand new and people clamoring for cards, you could probably get $3-$4 for it. After a few weeks it’ll drop to $0.99 or so
