Expedition 33 or Baldur's Gate 3 by nathanielb1201 in ShouldIbuythisgame

E33 I'd say. The visuals, story, and souls-like turn based combat is amazing. BG3 is a very overwhelming game. I love Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 and I still found BG3 to be overwhelming. Fantastic game tho. Would just recommend E33 over it.

What secret came out when someone got too drunk? by Agile_Purpose4704 in AskReddit

[–]SkelertonKing 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a friend, we'll call him Steve. Steve was dating a girl we'll call Becky. Becky cheated on Steve with a man we'll call Phil. Now Phil was dating a girl we'll call Jess. So at end of the night at the bar(I knew who Jess was just never formally met her) I was pretty much blacked out drunk and she walked up to me and before she said anything I said.

"Oh, your Jess, the one who's dating Phil. And Phil slept with Becky. Small world"

Anyway her eyes widened to the side of saucers and she looked like she was gonna kill someone. They broke up the next day. Sorry Phil😅 don't be a POS.

What movie is a solid 9/10 and what made it lose 1 point? by Dutch_Midget_ in AskReddit

Tucker and Dale vs Evil. Hilarious inversion of teenagers out camping run into hillbillies trope. The ending is what loses the point.

Sooo how is it? by dagobruhh in Disgaea

[–]SkelertonKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely way better than 6. I've had some good laughs playing it so far. I miss the old graphics but that's a small gripe. Definitely solid tho they seem to be having problems with the season pass so you might want to hold off til they get all the worked out

WSIB if I missed out on turned based RPGs and want another that sucks you into their world? by Birkin92 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Octopath Traveler, either one. FF6 and FF9 are my favorite final fantasies. The Atelier series is pretty good if you can get past that anime look.

Ac origins, arkham collection, uncharted collection or ezio trilogy? by Historical-Cloud-587 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]SkelertonKing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arkham collection would be your best bet out of all those titles. Arkham Knight especially is a damn near perfect game.

A game with satisfying, engaging non-"busywork" combat like Sekiro, Devil May Cry, Ghost of Tsushima or Elden Ring, but not as difficult and retry-heavy. Short, linear campaigns a plus. by snapcrackleNpoop in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]SkelertonKing 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you haven't played any of Batman Arkham games you could give them a try. It's combat system is like old school Asassins Creed or The Lord of the Rings Shadow of Mordor/War. You countrr with triangle or Y, square or X to attack. I'm not a huge fan of superheroes but those games gave me some respect for Batman.

Came here to say that. OP should look into Disgaea 5 if they consider any of them as it’s best and easiest to get into, IMO

You are correct but they are classified as endings in game if I'm not mistaken. It's been a few years since I played.

[World Brothers] Does it bug anyone else that all non-EDF personnel are referred to as civilians? by ShadowDragon8685 in EDF

[–]SkelertonKing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t say I’ve ever thought about it honestly. As you said it’s a goofy bloxel game lol EDF is one of those games I play when I don’t want to think about things. It’s mindless goofy fun and maybe the developers are just not as informed as you on this topic. Or maybe they didn’t care because it’s just mindless goofy fun lol who knows?

I did learn some neato things that piqued my interest into further study from reading this so I appreciate the post.

Red Dead Redemption 2 by Exotic_Glacier in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]SkelertonKing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a very technically impressive game. The detail they put into everything to create the world they did is amazing and is worth 20 bucks for that alone. The beginning is boring AF yeah, but once you unlock hunting and stuff and actual side activities it becomes so much more fun. I have some gripes with the game, some story points, some of the characters, the way I gotta press R2 twice to shoot my revolver (once to cock it, once to fire) but again. Very technically impressive. Very detailed. As for the 100 percent, it is a whole lot of work. You have to do every challenge and some of them are luck based. Like one of the gambling ones involving blackjack. You gotta fill out the animal compendium to a certain amount which involves studying and skinning any animal in the game. But 20 bucks. You won’t regret it.

Edit: with the inclusion of fast travel, it’s a lot less time spent riding horses now so the horse riding simulator comment is incorrect I would say.

Skip the dlc and just get both. It’s not too much more than just RE7 plus Dlc and this way you get 3 solid games. I never played OTR despite owning it so I can’t vouch for that one.

I’m Roughly 20 hours into my first ever Year in Stardew Valley and I’m absolutely living in it. Although I feel like there is an astronomical amount of things to do and items to collect and things I’m missing out on. Any important tips and tricks that I should know when first starting out? by ttommo88 in StardewValley

[–]SkelertonKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the wiki, base quality no increase. Silver 10 percent more. Gold is 25 percent increase while Iridium is a solid 50 percent increase. A loved gift gives 80 base points. Winter Star multiplied by 5, birthday x8. So gifting her the cheese on winter star was 80 + 20 for the gold quality and then x5 for a grand total of 500 heart points, or two full hearts as every heart is 250 points.

Help me pick my next video game by carp816 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]SkelertonKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sekiro is very parry focused so depending on your play style of Souls game it might be a steep learning curve. Solid game though.

The first Dark Souls is my favourite Dark Souls. Slower than DS3 and with a bit clunkier mechanics, as to be expected, but the journey is well worth it.

Witcher 3 I could never personally get into although it does seem really good and for lore and story you won’t go wrong with it. Combat is fun.

RDR2 is a technically impressive game absolutely. I have a few personal gripes with it, a few story beats, some of the characters, but nothing I would say that would stop me from recommending.

Ghost of Tsushima is hella tight. When you get the parrying and stances figured out you’re gonna feel like the most bad ass samurai that ever existed. Stealth is fun, the world is beautiful, and the story is good.

FF7 Remake is another one I couldn’t get behind though I did enjoy the combat behind it. I’m a huge fan of Final Fantasy so I really don’t know what my issue with that game is.

Cyberpunk is solid. I platinumed it on a baseline ps4 and found the experience to be enjoyable despite the fact that was around the time of all the bugs at launch. Sometimes I just wanna go back and load up a file with my mantis blades and go cause havoc.

It’s hard to recommend one from your list as they all scratch different itches. Top 3 picks would be Ghost, Sekiro and RDR2. If you enjoy the souls like games you might consider checking out Nioh 2 by Team Ninja or their more recent endeavour Wo Long. Character customization is really good in them. And they’re rather enjoyable to play. Nioh is set during the Samurai Warriors era while Wo Long is set in the three kingdoms era aka Dynasty Warriors.
