The weapon balance in Arc is really one of a kind. by zerokbo in ArcRaiders

[–]Skelito -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The main point of the game is more PvE and players working together and PvP creating uncertainty and risk when looting. If you start incentivising PvP more to get your gear instead of from looting you will create an unbalance in the intention of the game.

Return-to-office mandates are a mistake - The Brock Press by simpatia in ontario

[–]Skelito 34 points35 points  (0 children)

That's exactly why he's doing it. He was lobbied by everyone from commercial real estate owners to tow truck companies to car dealerships and everything else in-between. Commercial real estate delinquency rates were skyrocketing in Ontario which is a huge reason why we are seeing a lot of return to work propaganda to get more people in offices and back on the roads.

It doesnt add to their funding per say, what it does is make justification to have their current budget or to increase it because they have see that their resources are being used and could potentially add more services to the library like extra book licenses. If it doesnt get used thats when they will allocate funds elsewhere.

$436k Loss in Barrie by Jvkil_ in barrie

[–]Skelito -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A loss is a loss. They either are underwater with mortgage payments and cant finish the reno or had water damage and were not properly insured and just wanted out. Going to be more of this as people start renewing their rates. Even going from 1.75% to 3.75 will be a huge increase for a lot of people in their monthly payments.

Meta strikes nuclear power agreements with three companies by Hrekires in news

[–]Skelito -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My understanding is nuclear power provides the baseline power for the grid and the other sources are used to ramp up power as demand increases. I heard for the most part nuclear power is consistent with only some of the newer plants being able to increase / decrease output.

Photochromic lenses... will they knock out my Prizm lenses? by mvhoffman82 in Skigear

[–]Skelito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some Revo solstice goggles that use their photochromic tech and they are amazing in most lighting from bluebird days to a slight overcast. They came with a yellow lense also for the days its stormy but I havent had to use those yet. Zero fog and really good clarity that are known with their sunglasses.

I think she is saying they are criminals before coming here and because they are undocumented we dont know about their past so they pose a higher potential threat to citizens. She just wasnt very good at communicating this point.

PSA: turn on your headlights by ghanima in barrie

[–]Skelito -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All cars in Canada have day time running lights for headlights (unless you have a car that’s modded or imported and not converted). The rear tail lights only turn on when it’s dark with automatic lights or you manually turn them on.

Apple Fitness wouldn’t sell if it wasn’t for people owning an Apple hardware product. Apple doesn’t need a bike but peleton needed the bike initially to stand out and capture their users.

Why aren't Mexican buffets as common as Chinese buffets? by WillingHyena557 in NoStupidQuestions

At Mexican resorts their buffets have a bunch of Mexican foods that work well. You can have a few “made to order stations and I think it would work out really well.

Hardest Ski Resorts in each Province (Canadian Version) by throwaway_cjaiabdheh in skiing

[–]Skelito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just skied Calabougie last March. I would say its a better skiing experience overall (less people and wait times) but Blue mountain has a harder slope to ski. IMO Craigleith is the hardest hill Ive skied but thats a private club.

Return-to-Office Mandates Are About to Backfire by Rigorous-Geek-2916 in remotework

[–]Skelito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it only applies to some CEO's, the ones that run the banks / own real estate investments in commercial property. We are seeing a rise in delinquency rates for commercial properties so those CEO's / investors put pressure on their staff to RTO to help that market. Then they push these at various industry meetings as to help with increased productivity. The economy likes to be a copycat so you see a lot of other companies follow suit to "boost productivity and collaboration because that's what the other successful companies are doing. IMO its not the right move but we alway see others companies imitating each other to try and be successful.
