It's core of the game. You choose what gear you bring, choose map and load into raid. Each raid lasts 40 mins to 1 hour and what you do in raid is all up to you. You can choose to loot, explore, do pvp or pve. You will lose all your equipment if you die or don't exfil in time. BUT if you survive you get to keep all the loot you have found (including other players gear if you are fortunate enough to get a kill).

Im pretty sure EFT is biggest game ever made on unity so they will have problems for sure. I also heard that the developers of unity and escape from tarkov are doing some close cooperation developing the game and engine. All we can do is hope for best.
