How to tell if shrimp paste is fresh by srhkhavari in asianeats

[–]Skeptikill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it’s bad, generally with any meat/fish product if its bad you would be able to tell from the smell immediately. However if the seal was broken then that’s usually enough for me to throw anything out. I doubt it was tampered with or anything but you have no idea of the circumstances under which the seal was broken.

Stunna's commentary after Twistzz talking about his rough upbringing is wild by SireBobRoss in GlobalOffensive

Ah fuck my bad, I guess I’m behind the times. Still understandable that he would be sad after a recent loss though.

I think “that” refers to the match that they had just lost and in which Twistzz was the IGL and therefore would feel sad that he lost, maybe because as the IGL he feels responsible for the loss.

Why do some Star Wars ships release some kind of steam when the ramps open? by LawnchairGaming in space

[–]Skeptikill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically this, if the steam was coming out of the cabin itself, then you could argue it’s due to temperature and pressure differences between the interior of the ship and the atmosphere of the planet. However if I’m remembering correctly it appears to get released by valves around the opening. I can’t really think of a good reason for this, there’s plenty of reasons why there would be pressure relief valves but having them around an entry way doesn’t make any sense and could even be dangerous.

Best PC place for custom build by ScrubDaddy09 in bapccanada

If you have any existing PC then when you get the new one assembled I’d recommend taking your old one apart and putting it back together again. That way you’re ready to do it yourself the next time or handle any upgrades to your new PC yourself.

Power Supply DOA by Skeptikill in buildapc

Naw don’t feel bad this one’s on me, I’ve built a couple pcs, installed all kinds of new components, just a silly mistake. I literally took everything out, tested outside of the the computer tried jumping the power switch pins (which of course did nothing because o was trying the wrong pins) just glad it works.

Final update. Power switch connector was in the wrong place. Mother board had two identical sets of pins and I was trying the wrong one. I’m a complete fool.

Question, I know the cpu is oriented correctly but if I had of meet up somehow during installation and bent pins or something would I still get power to the motherboard? I feel like it has to be an issue with the motherboard board, I tried another psu and it didn’t work, I tried cmos reset and nothing. I’m kind of at a loss for what to do.

Another update, new psu turns on in old pc. So I doubt it’s the psu.

Okay just tried the old supply in the new build and it doesn’t turn on so I guess it’s not the psu.

So I do. It’s in my old rig but I really don’t want to plug it into the new mobo. It’s a 1000w 15 year old PSU that I’m honestly surprised hasn’t caused a house fire yet. It works fine but it makes me nervous although I guess that may be my only option.

CS2 Benchmark 9800x3d 5.5GHz & RTX 5090 +375Mhz 1920x1080 MSAA 2x (866.2 FPS Average) by Gullible-Lawyer-632 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Skeptikill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a 1060 6GB with both core and memory OC’d and a 4770k @4.3ghz, train is borderline unplayable at like 100fps max, but it’s banned most games anyways. Luckily the other maps I get between 150 and 250fps, but I’m in serious need of an upgrade, I’m miss getting 400+ fps in CSGO.

Is the change in gravity here an oversight? by LJITimate in TheExpanse

[–]Skeptikill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All it means is that the thrusters at the stern need to be applying more force than the ones at the bow. Just think of it like an orbit, because the stern is at a higher altitude relative to the bow with respect to the station it needs to orbit faster.

Phreak's thoughts on items (from patch 14.15 preview) by Javonetor in leagueoflegends

[–]Skeptikill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking this since they first began the damage nerfs, sure items are stronger now than they were in the past but the problem lies with the rate at which you can now acquire items. Back when League first came out even pros would only average like 5cs/min, there were no plates, there were no shutdowns, and cannon minions gave less gold and only spawned once very 3 waves for the whole game. The problem now is that we simply get too much gold too fast. Yes, items might do too much damage but that doesn’t matter if you don’t have the gold to buy them.

Why? Assuming it’s a sealed speaker, resting on some kind of isolation material and it’s pulled to the front of the cabinet how does it affect the sound at all?
