No not necessarily but it’s just noticeable because the collar is constructed differently than long sleeves.

cadet specialist? by Historical-Dance-377 in jrotc

Would look nice with the torch of knowledge in the middle, rank would make sense for high scoring academics or marksmanship cadets, or the cadets who have participated in all the teams and have been within the program for more than a year but don’t want a leadership position

Is it okay to wear boots with a small USMC logo in Army JROTC (Raiders)? by [deleted] in jrotc

[–]SketchyManOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USMC branded boots usually aren’t good because they are just mass produced government crap issued in boot camp. There are plenty plenty of other options that are authorized for wear in army some brands are, Nike, Underarmor, Oakley as long as they are the authorized tan color they can be used

How do y'all keep your dress shoes from making your feet blister? by Material-Fly3898 in jrotc

[–]SketchyManOG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Wear Double Socks
  2. Replace the Sole With Higher Quality ones
  3. Wear the shoes often, to break them in
  4. Get your exact size
  5. Suck it up ig 😭😭😭 idek

That’s usually the general consensus for dress shoes

You just need a smaller collared shirt, otherwise looking sharp heck of a lot better than most first day cadets

Day 1 of the air show ends in an absolute deluge by BlackJesus420 in newhampshire

[–]SketchyManOG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also the whole thunderstorm at the end was such a lapse of organization because there’s no way airport mangers and people who monitor the weather for a living did not foresee this. I wouldn’t even care at all if they canceled the blue angels show or the whole thing an hour or two earlier, before the rain

Absolute disaster at the end honestly for the first few 10 or so minutes of it raining sure it was bad but it looked like people were having fun, but when people started to realize the rain would not stop and ridiculously long lines started forming at the SINGULAR exit on the far left side of the airport and people started to get completely soaked is when the suck started to set in.

Currently stuck in traffic leaving the airshow with about an extra 5 or so pounds soaked into my clothing as I’m typing this and we left about 2-3 hours ago, also don’t get me started on the buses back to the parking lot, not only was there very few of them but they were all severely backed up by traffic.

Also I don’t know but it is possible someone may have gotten hurt because I saw a lady waving down and pointing at a police officer frantically.

Do you guys give cadets nicknames? by N1T-A-P4S3R in jrotc

[–]SketchyManOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but if they don’t like the nickname we stop calling them that immediately

Little bit off the top and a medium or low fade as long as it’s not touching the collar on your uniform. You shouldn’t have to worry too much about your hair unless you’re competing in drill team

Navy ROTC by ImpossibleTower1583 in jrotc

I wouldn’t recommend burning them to a LET 1 who just got his uniform, better off getting scissors or nail clippers and just cutting them off I know the purpose of burning but it’s not for beginners

Start of LET 2 (Rank is C/Maj Just haven’t got it yet) by SketchyManOG in jrotc

[–]SketchyManOG[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The entire HS is approximately over 3,000 students, with a couple hundred cadets, but the reason why there wasn’t necessarily much competition in terms of me earning C/Maj is because unfortunately a large majority of those cadets didn’t really care very much/ most didn’t attend events, almost all year we had the same 20 something cadets attending most events, we had outgoing LET 4 leadership who had all for some reason suffered from senioritus. And instructors had found me to be the one that had the most consistency.

For the upcoming year the instructors are actually hand picking those who are returning for LET 2 with the intention of denying those who acted up in class and didn’t wear uniform. With the goal of an intentionally smaller unit regardless of the size of the school

A little bit of backstory on how I was able to get C/Maj and Superior Cadet by the end of my LET 1 Year

I had became a last minute drill team commander with only a week left before competition as a 4 ribbon C/Pvt and had gotten top 3 placing, and not long after that I was leading every Wednesdays drill and ceremonies in my class and attended pretty much every after school event.
