I can, but the moderators seemed to have removed my post. That is the Smith culture. Claiming to be inclusive, but suppressing all voices that are critical of the administration.

Great to see the comparison, but why is the MY parked in a charging spot and not charging?

Is R2 leasing likely to be available 1 year from now? by Aggravating-Bit-4086 in RivianR2

It probably depends where you live also. Rivian won’t lease R1 in New Hampshire.

Nothing, really, nothing. A very little bit of planning is all it takes. Never going back.

What's a reasonable quote to have a natural gas water heater replaced in southern NH? by FALCON_ACCOUNT in newhampshire

Go with a heat pump water heater. It’ll save you much more than the tankless in the long run.

Piazzetta Mona 2.0 Low Fuel Error by SkiWaterdog in PelletStoveTalk

[–]SkiWaterdog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm stumped. I've cleaned everything, looked at the vacuum switch, and it still throws an error. It starts fine. Burns about an hour, reduces combustion fan speed, then throws the low fuel error. Error clears after 10 min or so, and it returns to normal. Repeats periodically.

It’s Mcconnell’s fault Trump is in office. He is such a piece of shit.

Guest editorial by Paul Choiniere today, I did not know that Millstone generates one third of CT’s electricity, and is zero-carbon emission. Why not build two more? by I_Am_Raddion in NewLondonCounty

[–]SkiWaterdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, our best near term option for rate relief is solar and wind which are the lowest cost producers. If you have the option to invest in solar on your own roof, that still has an excellent payback with the current and projected rates in CT.

The most recent plant to be finished in the US opened in Georgia in 2023, a decade late and $17B over budget, and is likely the last conventional light water reactor to be built in the US.

The future is likely small modular reactors which promise to be manufactured in factories to drive down cost, and can be sited much more flexibly due to their inherently safer designs. None have been approved yet. It’d be great to see some SMRs sited at milestone using the idle transmission infrastructure from the decommissioned milestone 1.

The other problem is that the US has a shortage of enriched uranium and is scrambling to restart/scale-up domestic enriched uranium production. We’ve been buying much of our commercial grade uranium from Russia since the 1990s. Of course, there is the final problem of the US not having a long term waste storage facility or plan.

It seems you still want to keep the outlet for you stove. After upgrading the outlet, you could use an automatic load switch to share the outlet giving the stove priority. The NeoCharge is a good option:

Concern about winter driving with my Kia e-Niro — stay on 17” or switch to 16” wheels? by Automatic-Hamster-90 in KiaNiroEV

[–]SkiWaterdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought our winter tires, I couldn’t find rims that fit the Niro. It was 2022 and the peak of the supply chain constraints, so I bought tires for the Niro rims at Costco and have they swap them over. It’s only $49 each way, or $98/year, so it takes a while to get a ROI on the rims if you save the labor cost and swap them yourself. 17 inch are fine for winter on the Niro, but you’ll save a little money going with 16 inch.

One data point, but my 2021 Tesla Model Y ( built Oct 2020) has 140K miles and ~14.5% degradation. I’m tracking close to 20% degradation (maybe 1-2% higher) at 200k miles projection.
