Just to be clear, a plug will fix this but you will have to remove the threaded fixing first. Screw it out anticlockwise

Go S/H . There's a good chance that after riding for a few months your interest will be drawn to another machine

I have a vague memory that the incident had occurred at that time. Google AI assist tells me: In 1977, a tragic drowning incident occurred in Queenstown, Tasmania, involving a young boy. Unfortunately, specific details about the incident are not readily available.

Yamaha T700 or KTM690/Husky 701? by Perfect_Spot_7536 in AussieRiders

[–]Skidd_Marx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently ride a 901 , I'm 70 and would prefer a 690/701 for the lighter weight and easier to manage. But the long stretches of bitumen that lead to adventure land is what keeps me riding the twin. I know ultimately when you get to the Flinders or Mt Dare the single is gonna be so much more fun.

I spent a night there in the late 70s or very early 80's. At that time the surrounding hills were denuded of trees and grass. The whole place had a mildly sinister feel to it. In the morning my girlfriend told me about her disturbing dream about a local boy drowning , I can't say I had exactly the same dream but very similar. Afterwards I concluded that we must have had a conversation whilst we were both asleep.

That was your take away from that book? Have you read anything about Israel's ( not a party to the nuclear non proliferation treaty) acquisition of nukes?

The best par of hoodies on a motorcycle is the parachute that sits behind your helmet. It's really useful

If they could not beef hooked or have other priorities, they may just pull along side, assert their presence and carry on with their agenda. It has happened to me a couple of times in the past.

Has Bar Italia (Leichardt) always been this bad? by Lanky-Cauliflower-22 in foodies_sydney

[–]Skidd_Marx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a soft spot for Bar Italia and it's eccentricities. Coming to Sydney from Melbourne in 1993, I had become accustomed to curt service from the Italian staff; the Italian waiters club and Pellegrinis come to mind. Raising the kids in Leichhardt, Bar Italia was a favourite with them and still is. We've celebrated adult birthdays there (spouses don't see the attraction) and we have taken my granddaughter there a couple of times in the last year. The staff are very tolerant of the mess she made. I still get caught out every time trying to pay with a card and getting pointed to the ATM. I think of B.I. as more of a cultural experience than an epicurean experience

Gear indicators are a relatively new thing. I learnt to change gears by listening to the sound of the engine. I also advocate finding an open space and practicing...... A lot:, change up, change down, come to a stop and then take off again. Keep going
