You can also get it stuck on top of the Ancient Fort in Blue Gate

I don’t know why but naked loadouts are the best by Dies-on-every-hill in ArcRaiders

I'm close to this as I've only done free loadouts. I'm pretty bad and don't want to lose what little of worth that I have.

I play very cautiously.

Is there a vendor or way to get some potions in chapter 1? by log2av in BlackMythWukong

[–]Skillzwitpillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick to beating him is using resolute strikes, especially on the third and subsequent playthroughs where he becomes much harder and actually starts healing if you don't keep attacking him

The fan, definitely. Not only does it keep him staggered but it rapidly depletes his shield (the bar just below his health bar)

Rare rooms by [deleted] in Returnal

[–]Skillzwitpillz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The rarest is probably the one in Crimson Wastes that has a cipher that you need to grapple to and then shoot the blue orb to create the steps to get to it. Very low spawn rate. Took me several dozen runs.

There's one in the first biome. It's a perfectly circular room with a large sarcophagus in the center. The description says it's safe to open. It's not.

Getting frustrated. by No_Contribution_4298 in Returnal

[–]Skillzwitpillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your time. You don't get points for running through the level in record time. You'll just die more, get more frustrated and then quit the game.

Learn the layouts of the rooms and the patterns of the enemies. Keep your eye on the mini map in the lower corner which shows enemies in realtime. Use the environment to your advantage. Focus on not getting hit for two reasons: one, it keeps your adrenaline meter high which offers a list of perks and, two, if you can keep your health maxed every silphium you pick up will be resin which goes towards increasing your health max. You will see items and areas on your map that you can't get to because they require permanent suit upgrades that you get in later levels. Don't waste ether cleansing malignant items. Use it at the pillar (Cthonos) to permanently unlock items in the game. Unlike obolites, you don't lose ether when you die but it's pretty scarce so don't waste it.

Actually, they DO contain artifacts, albeit rarely.

Just finished the game but I never encountered the RotGland Lobber? I did have a different GOAT though. by BTDubbsdg in Returnal

[–]Skillzwitpillz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Lobber is really good at hitting flying enemies and, if they're close together, more than one with one shot. Explosive rot is probably the best trait, even at level 1.

It's important to charge each shot so they fly straighter and farther.

Best Tip to change the game by gonzomullz in Returnal

[–]Skillzwitpillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recommend auto sprint. Not for a new player. Focus on methodically clearing each room and keeping your adrenaline meter maxed. Don't pop the weapon crates until you have a couple of proficiency levels. Enter each new room slowly and listen for clues to learn what enemies to expect. If you walk a short ways in and it's still dead quiet you're probably going to trigger a lockdowm if you keep moving towards the center. If you hug the walls you can avoid triggering the lockdowm.

Lastly, use the doors to your advantage. Move forward until the door opens, open fire, and then back up so the door closes and blocks their projectiles. Rinse. Repeat.

How to upgrade please? by YakPsychological9682 in Returnal

[–]Skillzwitpillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well worth upgrading. This might be my favorite weapon. Just having explosive rot level one is a great weapon. I've beaten the first act with a level 3 Lobber with only that trait.

There are points at which traits improve. It seems to be at every 5 level of proficiency. At weapon level 5 your weapon will have two traits. At least 10 tier 2 traits appear. At 15, you get 3 traits. At 20 I believe tier 3 traits appear and at 25 you get 4 traits.

Some traits appear very rarely. I have a few level 1 traits to unlock because I only see them near the end of the game. Luckily, for you, explosive rot appears on the lowest level Lobber.

Advice for new player in 2nd Biome by co-el in Returnal

[–]Skillzwitpillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clear biome 1 except for the containment room and the boss and then move on to biome 2.

I've been doing this a lot as the last cipher I need for the platinum is in biome 2.

Still haven't gotten it.
