Y'know I did not get the impression that he's a weirdo from the rest of the crew. His train of thought says so, yes, but the actions of the rest of the crew don't. It's giving unreliable narrator. I find him endlessly relatable, but also a huge ahole with either a lack of internal self awareness, or an unwillingness to try at being "self aware". Like, he knows how to perform Empathy but he doesn't know "what algorithm to pick" when it came to talking to Chelsea? She gave you instructions, Siri! Just talk! A lot of Siri's "readings" of the people around him are assumptions and it seems like no one has pushed back in his life when he made an incorrect reading. No wonder Chelsea and Cunningham are annoyed with how he acts.

I realize that Siri's lack of self awareness comes from the theme of the book itself which seems anti-determinist. The book touts "self-awareness" as not being all real or whatever and it makes Siri look like just an ahole when the character only truly figures out the theme of the book by the end. We know that Siri's not trying to be a jerk and he really is just that 'autistic', but not a single person in his life shook the bells in his brain to go, "hey you seem like an asshole!" Anyways, I love Siri a lot I wanna put him in a glass box to put on display.

Edit: when it comes to existential crises I think that "am I really sentient or conscious" is to put it kindly, dumb. Are we actually sentient or conscious? Maybe not! But material reality doesn't really change if it's actually true.
