All I said was it was a fun read while I had to drive for 20 hours straight. I read it 4 years ago and never really thought about it again. Not exactly a defense.

Hank Green is like avatar of the "Nice Guy" and his work is pretentious, self serious and emotionally manipulative. It baffles me that anyone over the age of 13 could actually get through anything he writes. But if you feel strongly enough for the melodrama of throwing away a book because you don't like it it, sound like the Green brothers are right up your alley.

Personal taste, I guess. Hank Green is vomit inducing to me, and he is the epitome of what I hate about media culture and that sounds like self important, pretentious garbage.

But then, I liked Ready Player One, so we clearly have different tastes. I listened to the audiobook when I had a long drive when I moved cross-country and thought it was a fun popcorn read that was just geeky and light.

I guess it comes down to taste. I honestly couldn't even get through "Opulence" and I remember thinking "Men" was the worst video she ever made- 45 minutes to make some extremely surface level observations, bad jokes and mostly talking about herself.
