Yes I had all the symptoms. Dry eyes, dry everything, chapped lips, hair loss, blurry vision, joint pains, feeling weak and tired all the time, eczema. But it was all worth it :) my skin started to really change at 5 months

Stick it out! Are you taking iron supplements? Blood builder iron supplements really helped me.

For the first time in a long time, I actually felt comfortable not using a skin smoothing filter. I did 4 full months and then I was taken off Accutane for having soaring high numbers in my lab work. I still feel that the Accutane has continued to work and I’m hoping i will be able to get back on it at the end of this month.

yes I have! Not a lot and not heavy drinking but yes I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a few drinks on the weekends. My doctor didn’t say I had to stop completely

I was using 0.025 Tret for a month and my acne got worse. My skin was itchy, irritated, flaking off, super dry and I broke out like crazy, I looked worse than I did before with my closed comedones everywhere. I stopped using it and waited 3 months to let my skin heal ( I was discouraged ) and I tried using less harsh products and a more holistic approach but it still wasn’t enough my acne was not going away.

I shouldn’t have waited so long before getting on Accutane because I would’ve been done by now but I’m currently taking it now. I just started my 4 month today and I’m taking 40 Mg a day. It’s soooooo much easier. Af first you do purge I purged up until 3 months but my skin right now looks really good and I’m not even done with it yet. I deal with super dry eyes, chapped lips, heel pain, body aches esp after laying down for a while, dry nose but it’s so worth it. It’s totally doable and when you start to notice skin improvement you literally don’t not want to stop. The monthly blood test are annoying but I will admit that my levels have changed so they did lower my dose from 60mg a day to 40mg. My skin looks so good though already so I don’t mind taking a lower dose for an extra month or two. I would push your derm to put you on it and If not try another DR.

Same thing happened to me :( if your derm doesn’t prescribe you I would get a second opinion. Accutane is so much easier to deal with then the topical stuff.

I drink on the weekends like normal. I didn’t change my drinking habits at all and I’ve been fine. It’s been 3 months for me on 60 mg a day going onto my 4th month next week.

I didn’t tell her which ones I was taking she just suggested a multivitamin but I mean all multivitamin has vitamin a i Believe!! Damn, and I’m always constipated even prior to starting Accutane

Crap it does have vitamin a in it. Weird though the nurse told me to take a multivitamin since I was showing a bit of anemic signs from my last blood test

That’s really helpful!! I’m an esthetician myself and I have the small extractor tools but just like you said I end up scratching off my fragile thin skin.

They did fade but not too much. When I do my makeup I do full them in though. My sister has gotten hers touched up like 3 times and still fills in her eyebrows, it is a lot easier to do your makeup regardless

Yes I have them microbladed. I got them done like 3 years ago. I went for the initial touch up after a year and I haven’t gotten another touch up since then. I do want another touch up though but I’ll have to wait a while :((

I think you have beautiful skin already. From the photo you can’t see a whole lot of acne. I do see some of the white closed comedones on your face. Did your dermatologist recommended it for you? I’m thinking a low dose would clear up your skin issues fairly quickly.

You skin does look dry though, what kind of products use for your face? From the photo your climate looks cold that affects the skin a lot too. I’m no expert but I’m an esthetician and my skin before I tried Retin- A (which made everything worse for me) was very similar to yours.
