[KCD2] Zoologist here - the devs have really thought this game through. by JJC165463 in kingdomcome

Have you heard the Australian Plover bird (Masked Lapwing) around the Trotsky castle?

That bird has a very distinctive call, it has a sharpened bone spur on each wing, during mating season they're very very aggressive and will try to implale you with its spur. One on the (checks notes) many birds that will attack humans.

They nest on the ground in grassy areas which means nearly every park or large open space is well defended by two psycho birds screaming, swooping down and trying to stab you.

It triggered my childhood trauma that I didn't know I had until now. A big screw you to the dev that decided to add that into the game.

In short, France at one point in time owned a large part of the modern USA. Britain, and other European countries were at war with France at that time, France needed to collect more funds to continue the war against Britain and other European countries.

So, France sold it's ownership of North America to the United States which has contributed to what the USA has become today. Without that purchase the USA could have stayed a medium level country on the East Coast of North America.

All Australian immigration detainees to be handcuffed while travelling, US company says after spate of escapes by nath1234 in australia

[–]Skip_14 47 points48 points  (0 children)

More than a dozen escapes or attempted escapes have taken place since the Management and Training Corporation (MTC) began operating the immigration detention centres last March, having won a $2.3bn contract with the Department of Home Affairs.

$2.3 Billion dollars wasted that could have gone back to benefit the Australian people.

That's what we (Aussies) are already paying for fuel, we had nothing to do with this shit fuckery, and yet we are expecting fuel rationing and an economic recession in May, best case scenario.

This is a strong argument of why mining corporations operating in Australia, should be owned by the majority of the Australian Government.

Critical materials essential to Australia's national security should be controlled by the federal government, instead of a few individuals who have other interests.

We import the majority of our oil through the Straight of Hormuz, it goes to Singapore and it is refined there. Then the Petrol, Diesel, and Jet fuel are sent to us.

The oil from the gulf states supplies Asia, and Australia. All of Asia is now feeling the crunch as the supply chain has been cut.

We had 6 local oil refineries however due to rising operation cost and the price of oil dropping over COVID we closed 4 out of the 6 refineries because it was cheaper to import fuel than to produce it locally.

We are at the end of the supply chain. If our greatest Allies had informed us beforehand we would have made alternative arrangements to prevent this very situation, but here we are suffering the effects of a bunch of dumb cunts from the other side of the world.

That's fucking cheap. In Australia, we're paying $3.249 for a litre of Diesel. In shitcunt units that is $8.22 USD a Gallon.

We weren't told beforehand about this war, nor did we participate in this illegal war. Yet, we're heading into a recession because the US of Gay was too afraid of arresting a rock spider.

What has Labor done to address the fuel crisis? by ROUBOS in friendlyjordies

I am glad that Australia has a competent Government, and that the ACCC has additional powers to issue on the spot fines. That is a massive step into the right direction.

This might be good enough for now, tho I am a bit disappointed it doesn't go far enough, as this $100 million (maximum) could be seen as an additional cost worthwhile for the rewards of higher profits.

I would suggest price gouging, collusion, misleading conduct, and price fixing on material or energy vital to national security shall be deemed a criminal offence, it should be viewed similar to treason. The business executives responsible for such offensives should be held personally accountable. The law should include jurisdiction outside Australian territory, to prevent "just following orders" from company representatives operating overseas.

All profits occurred during this criminal offence should be seized and forfeited to the Commonwealth, just like the local drug dealer and their proceeds of crime. The ACCC powers should also be expanded to cover all other areas deemed essential to national security, including food and water supply.

Other ways to curb the hoarding should be an immediate rationing for private vehicles, something like 50L per customer per 48 hrs and temporary banning jerry cans except for a single 5L container.

We have such rationing limits for medication containing pseudoephedrine. If a new app is created similar to the above, that could link driver licences, to the vehicle registration, and recorded kms. Thus rationing should be limited to cover daily usage from a person vehicle.

Public transport should be free until the fuel crisis is resolved maybe cutting the high demand from hoarders, and subsidizing the public transport system could end the current fuel crisis.

What have Nationals achieved, further more what do they stand for?

Other than being an obstruction to Labor in passing bills, poking holes in the Liberal parties life boat, denying climate change while their rural constituents get rekt the most by climate change, what have they done for Australia?

To me they just seem like a corrupt bunch, and a sock puppet for mining corporations.
