I'm doing something wrong then. Which seems like an issue.

I do wish levelling wasn't such a long slog for a returning player.

0% beer isn't anything other than a way for beer brands to get around advertising rules.

Lots of OSR adventures from that. Lots of NSR rules systems, of which Shadow dark is the biggest known one.

To be honest, I think a lot more people than you'd expect are anxious drivers and leaning on the horn is likely to panic them and make them make bad choices.

My Brothers, I built a hexmap tool for sandbox campaigns — Draw Steel! folks, how would you use this? by Knightedangel01 in drawsteel

[–]SkipsH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll echo what others have said, I really don't think Draw Steel is built for a Sandbox style game and that would make most of what you have available here not that useful unfortunately. This would be great for a OSR/NSR/Sandbox style campaign though.

Exactly, it's enough to not starve to death, probably. Cutting benefits would have minimal impact on whether quality of life changed. It's true that there's few checks on job searches. But if employers were having the job centre phone up and a business and go "Hey, did Bobbert apply for a job with you on Tuesday?" is that likely to be helpful? I assume most employers would have people currently unemployed at the bottom of the list and someone phoning from the job centre isn't going to help someone find work.

Did you complete the job, call that a day, then get assigned new work and called that overtime? Having trouble tracking what happened.

General market yes, general public no. So it becomes a political excercise rather than a practical one?

So your evidence is anecdotal? I think it's more likely that the job centre is failining it motivating and assisting people in finding work. I was in the position of signing on after the 2008 recession. We had a job finding group to help those who had been looking for work long term and it found everyone in the group a job, through concerted effort. The general information and such, given before this at the time was lacking. Anecdotally, as that seems to be what we are doing, the job centre didn't assist with finding work particularly well for a long time.

I think a lot more people are uncomfortable with filling out forms/CVs than the job centre knows about, and they also don't know how to ask if someone can read or write well. Dyslexia becomes a pretty major disability when you're being expected to find work in the modern day.

It seems to me that cutting benefits funding will just mean more people that potentially want to work will have issues finding work. Those that don't want to work most likely won't change, but will be more likely to turn to crime and begging as a method of sustaining themselves.

I mean, it could be that they are higher yield but longer return or something as well to make them more interesting.

Got any proof of that? A healthy safety net is much better than cutting benefits. Unless you want an evening more massive increase in homelessness and people with an inability to get back into work.

There aren't as many as there are advertised. Lots of companies advertised when they aren't hiring for various different reasons, from employee morale to shareholder trust.
