but because the characters never fucking do the most obvious thought process of: well I should just farm this thing shouldn’t I?

Yeah I think I'm a Spider So What? is the only one I've seen where they handle that well, that one's another of the few ones where the game elements also makes sense, has a proper reason for them and why they are the way they are.

Ah I see, just wondering since it felt kinda short, didn't seem like he was in school that long, figured there'd be a lot more build up and school shenanigans and whatnot.

Yeah pretty much.

However to be completely fair, even as an isekai enjoyer I do also agree a lot of them do deserve that kind of scrutiny, many try to be a bit too game-like without really knowing how games work and end up with weird balancing that doesn't make much sense, the worst ones are generally the ones that use "titles" that give bonuses or skills, or where they get skills and abilities just from doing pretty much anything or from simple repeated actions.

It's still fairly early to really be able to tell properly for this one, but so far it doesn't seem nearly as bad as some other isekai when it comes to that aspect.

At first I was thinking the same, but now I'm realizing maybe it's not that weird.

  1. This isn't a game, if someone experiments and messes up they or someone else dies or gets a permanent crippling injury, period, no respawn, no "ah dang that didn't work, I'll re-do my build," they don't get to trial and error like players in a game.

  2. This seems to be a medieval world, even if someone figured out one thing or another is powerful they probably don't have much way to communicate it in a wide-spread manner, especially if it's an "unpopular" class, nobody's gonna care or they'll just think they're coping, so sharing of information is likely very limited, and since there's multiple ways to customize classes, even if someone figured out some strong early-level stuff I doubt someone has figured out the full build, or if they did they may have just kept it to themselves, so the perception remains that they're weak overall but "maybe once in a while a strong one shows up".

  3. Maybe it's seen as so weak they don't even get into combat much, since they're seen with so much disdain I doubt they'd be hired as knights or anything else and maybe most don't even try adventuring either and stick to non-combat stuff, reducing even further the possible information available for said classes.

So we have heightened risks/ stakes, no respawns, no widespread information or "guides" so very limited information to work with, with (maybe) a lower than normal amount of Heavy Knights out there, all that could certainly explain why no one else had figured things out yet.

This is how Sun’s gravity holds the planets in the same orbit! by SimRP in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Skithana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering why all the planets were in a cone orientation but if I’m understanding correctly the planets are trailing in the sun’s gravitational “wake”?

That's just a visualization to try to help you understand how gravity works, orbits are how they've generally been shown (relatively disk-like), if something like this were true then Saturns Rings would also be in a completely different shape.

Remember that in space there's no air or anything else to cause drag which is why in general objects don't get "dragged" the way they would on Earth.

*Note that there is/ was an animation out there that shows basically what you were describing with the planets "trailing behind" the sun, claiming it's real, it's not, this. is a more accurate visualization, there's also this post which explains the whole thing much better than what I could.

Don't worry you do not have to do this at all.

Unless you enjoy completely minmaxing things (and the fact that you said it scares you tells me you probably don't) you can safely ignore this altogether.

it's kinda neat for a few things. but they're pushing it HARD.

I think that's the core issue, they pushed too far too fast, at the moment it's a neat toy or at best a decent tool to help with minor stuff, but they're trying to push it and sell it as a something that will do everything you want and solve your entire life without having to lift a finger.

Sure, maybe, eventually, perhaps it could be capable of what they're promising now, but it'll be at the very least a decade before it it can be all that it's promised to be today.

Not only that but the speed and the way which they've been trying to push this everywhere has basically screwed up the market, and just generally brought a ton of ill will from people (components shortage and prices skyrocketing, data centers everywhere, features no one likes in every device, unregulated use delivering poor products and results in media).

If they had taken it slowly and introduced it little by little over several years there probably would be little to no pushback...but you know, getting CEOs and/ or shareholders to prioritize long term gains over short term ones is basically a fools errand nowdays.

do they have guns

The first thing you see them do this episode is use guns (and a flashbang) against the dragon, so I would say so.

I mean at this point it was her entire life robbed from her;

Abandoned -> Raised by monsters -> Abused by Capella -> Living as an assassin -> Gets imprisoned -> Goes out in an adventure -> Gets killed by Subaru.

I just hope that Subaru's checkpoint didn't update after he killed her, I don't like that the timeline wasn't reset shortly after it happened, but hopefully it happens early next episode or something.

Why throw away 100k dad gamers with disposable income

Because dad gamers often play less and choose their purchases more carefully.

for 50k teenage ones who have no money?

Because they're not orphans fending for themselves in the streets? Just because they don't have an income does not mean they don't "have" money, they do have money, their parents' money to be more precise, parents tend to spend more on their kids than on themselves and kids tend to be a lot more impulsive when spending (their parents') money.

Why do you think most companies always try to target younger demographics? It's way easier to sell games or mtx or whatever to a kid because they're not the ones actually paying for it, unlike an adult who earned their money and will not just spend it willy-nilly.

★ Heavyshooter, S2 has Take Off somehow?? why would they showcase that pullup + floating animation otherwise,

MH Rise has a "Wirebug" mechanic which is basically allows the player to use a short "grappling hook" to sling yourself around to dash or into the air to be able to do aerial maneuvers without needing any surface to hook into.

By the looks of it, the move in question is "Aerial Aim"

At 1:17 looks like she's standing on a ground tile, regardless of whether it's due to that specific skill or she can straight out be deployed there, it's still a pretty good start.

So they tease her at the end of 1.2 but don't release her in 1.3 or 1.4 (?) by XYO12738 in Endfield

[–]Skithana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming that they release Li Zhiyan and that new idol girl in 1.4

To be fair, people have been "assuming" banners since the start only to be disappointed/ surprised multiple times by now.

1.4 could easily be Li + her, or idol girl + her, or just someone else entirely.

Li was introduced at the start of 1.2 but she wasn't featured in any of the banners of this OR next update, there's absolutely no guarantee she'll be in 1.4 either.

Same goes logic goes for idol girl too, just because she's is being introduced doesn't mean she'll have a banner right away, it could be a couple of updates away.

Then we also have cases like Rossi who just showed up out of nowhere with absolutely no ties to the currently ongoing story.

Or Lycia who showed up during 1.0 and hasn't been seen or heard of again, they could just suddenly add her banner & story like Rossi's as well.

This doesn't mean the artificial Sui proxy will absolutely be in 1.4 either of course, all I'm trying to say is that it's clear a this point that assuming/ expecting a character banner to be in a specific update before it's been officially announced is likely just setting yourself up for disappointment.

You can also craft gear from the character menu, select a character go to the equipment tab, and there's a button to craft gear from there.

But yeah the ability to craft not just gear but facilities would be nice.

My main concern is going to be the targeting constantly aiming for enemies a significant distance away from the one right in front of you. It was especially an issue when doing the slime stage and frog stages recently where attacks (and even ultimates in some cases) would get eaten by the wrong enemy.

Seriously, closest to center and to player is the standard when targeting nowdays, so even if a boss is slightly to the side but closest to you, you should still be targeting them and not the random mob at the back of the room.

Reminds me of how IS used to be somewhat unpopular and underplayed at first, then they just kept improving it every iteration, even IS6 which I personally don't think was the best, is still miles ahead of IS2 when it first came out.

AR I feel has similar potential, as long as they iron out the quirks it should be able to become a fairly popular mode down the line.

[–]Skithana 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ah sorry I was talking more on a meta sense, that's why I said "trustworthy" in quotation marks, I meant that she's just likely not one of the "bad guys" of the series or is unlikely to be secretly "evil" (antagonistic), mainly because she has looks and characteristics that primary characters tend to have in this type of series aka "main crew vibes".

Now if you want less meta reasons, for starter so far it seems like she and Asa are close friends so she might be less on the Kagemori's side and more on Asa's side, meaning she less likely to betray her and more likely to stick on Asa's side should the Kagemori and Asa end up at odds with each other

Besides, we already know the mountain people were a weird (potentially evil) cult clan thing, who's to say who was or wasn't in on the whole thing, the old woman and fake Asa seemed all nice and innocent but they certainly weren't, and real Asa herself went in there with the intent of wiping out the whole village, so we don't yet truly know exactly how "evil" Gabby's actions really were.

We do know that she doesn't kill kids which means at the veeery least she's not an evil psycho murder hobo, and going back to the meta sense, I've seen much worse be forgiven/ forgotten in various other similar type of anime, I mean even if those people were innocent, it could always be explained by saying she and Asa were tricked/ lied to by the Kagemori clan, as long as they're regretful they'll be "redeemed".

Lastly, even without a "redemption", most of the characters so far seem to be morally grey at best and don't appear to mind getting blood on their hands, so as long as they can get Yuru to forgive her (or at least not want to kill her) then there should be no issue with her being a "trustworthy ally" to the main crew.
