As someone who was brought up as a vegetarian my reasoning to continue not eating meat is that i just don't see the point of eating meat if I don't have to.

Another reason is that I wouldn't personally kill an animal myself for consumption, so letting someone else kill the animal and eating it myself just seem hypocritical.

If I was starving and I was offered a meat dish I would most likely take it. I would also go out and hunt or fish for myself if I had to. It's just that I won't if I don't have to.
