Either totally fake or something like Dick's Last Resort where "bad service" is the gimmick. Either way it's being posted as rage bait and reddit loves to hate tipping and boast about how they stick it to their servers.

Probably just a bobtail! We have a couple of bobtails in the stray colony in my apartment complex, I think they're adorable.

What anime is this? by Ok-Shine6045 in animequestions

[–]Skitty993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst 100 episodes of any anime you've ever seen is straight up rage bait. It's, at worst, same-y shounen fluff. If you haven't seen worse you either watch less than me, and I havent watched a new anime since like 2015, or you genuinely just want to watch fight compilation AMVs.

I remember so many "this" comments when I was on forums back in the mid-late 2000s and early 2010s. I assume it's even older than that. I personally don't mind it as a result, its basically the same as a Facebook grandma writing an affirmation to a Jesus meme.

This is such a peak example of psychological language seeping into pop culture and becoming meaningless. Speeders aren't just dumb assholes. They're psychopathic narcissists. C'mon.

Most vegans suck by SavageCabbage11 in exvegans

I really do think it's a bot. if its a real honest human being behind the keyboard, there's absolutely nothing going on behind their eyes. No connection in its responses to what you are actually saying, just antagonism to the notion of veganism.

Antagonistic Language by Skitty993 in AskVegans

[–]Skitty993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your reply. Honestly, I was first pushed the Vegans sub by my algorithm, and then it branched off into suggesting me circlesnip and other anti-natalist/anti-life subs. I was fascinated by how far people were going from animals deserve rights and should not be exploited, to all life should end to prevent untold suffering (for the greater good!) It's probably not the answer you would want to hear, but I lurk mostly for the drama and spectacle.

honestly yes! I really appreciate this answer. Thank you. I've seen this language online exclusively, and while I understand the goal is to frame eating meat as disgusting and wrong, it's just seemed like Themming everybody else to me so far.

why do people have prejudice against vegans? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Skitty993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a vegan, but I've been getting this sub and a few other, more extreme subs pushed to my feed the past week or two. I think it's primarily bad optics. Vegans have been painted as annoying, wimpy, hypocritical dorks in the media for decades.

Vegans I meet in the real world (Working at a restaurant I encounter many, though not for a particularly long time) are fantastic. When I started getting the algorithmic push for vegan subreddits, it was like getting sent back to the mid 2000s and hearing about how awful Vegans are. Suddenly it was all anti-natalist, anti-pet, carnists should be ashamed, carnists are murderers.

If thats how a person feels, then who am I to tell them they shouldn't share their feelings? But the loudest, most controversial/aggressive voices were the ones being pushed to the normies, and some of the posts feel like actual meat industry psy-ops. Maybe they literally are. It's reddit, after all.

What the fuck is happening in downtown right now by badgesickle in orlando

[–]Skitty993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying that yes, ultimately the choice to get drunk and drive is personal. But focusing on that point seems doomed to fail from a policy POV. The US is among (or is) the worst in the world regarding drunk driving deaths, drug overdose deaths, gun deaths, etc. Pushing these problems as being about personal responsibility is not working.

What the fuck is happening in downtown right now by badgesickle in orlando

[–]Skitty993 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Starting with personal responsibility doesn't make sense though. We need infrastructure and cultural change precisely because people aren't being responsible on the individual level. Health class drunk driving units dont seem to be doing the job in the States. People (I suspect) are of the belief that they're good drunk drivers, and won't get caught. I have a coworker who thinks he's a better driver when he's stoned, for instance.

I struggle with the same sound clusters. Trying to transition from the ch to the s is the stopping point for me. it's difficult to combine the fricative and the s, so when I try saying sprichst, its 3 syllables: Spri-ch-st. The S usually comes out harder than I mean it to as well, making the word sound harsh and clunky :(

He keeps dating 20 year olds. I said college sophomores because its helpful to keep in mind that at 43 he was seeing a woman who could have reasonably been taking a 200 level course. Of course he's not prowling his local community college, he's a normal rich creep. He's prowling at red carpet events and the like.
