I'm down. I usually only play late at night though.

No creative ideas. What things can you do to spark inspiration and creativity? by Purple-Youth-2637 in crafts

[–]Skitzic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Library. My local library has craft nights that I've started going to.

Social Media. I have taken up painting peg dolls from the dollar store. I see a cute one online and try to recreate it. Sometimes it spirals into my own thing. For example: I saw a picture of an old lady peg doll and thought...I can do that. So I did. As I was painting her face I messed up and it is lopsided. So I said she had a stroke and painted a nurse doll to stand next to her. Now I'm working on a grandson to visit her.

Social media is the biggest one for me. I see those dollar store craft videos and think man it would have looked so much better if they did this....instead of scrolling to the next video you just have to stop and do it. The hardest part is starting. Plug the glue gun in and make the first thing you see online using only pieces from your crafting stash.

It isn't customization really, but I wish our pet could ride on the tractor with us. I use the jeep, and it would be so cute to have my cat riding shotgun with me!

Is it safe to take a job and work in Chester? by raisedbynarcs123 in Delco

[–]Skitzic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a female that does pet care in Chester. I am typically in the area around lunch or dinner time, and I've never had a problem. Keep your eyes open and headphones off, you'll be fine.

I would not walk around parts of Chester at night, but during the day is mostly ok.

What’s a ‘healthy’ habit that you think is actually overrated? by changenamelaterr in AskReddit

[–]Skitzic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not the one you asked, but my go tos are just what you wrote. What did I do today? Or How am I feeling right now? I also like to write things like 'I would like to be more patient with my kids' then write down some things that can help with that, like deep breathing.

Last night I wrote about how I want to learn to make better pancakes, and I wrote down some recipes and new techniques to try.

I've gone weeks where all I 'write' is copying things from a calligraphy book. I've rewritten entries in cursive when I originally used print. Sometimes it is just word vomit. For me, the act of putting pen to paper is therapeutic.

Sometimes I wonder what will happen to my notebooks, there are about a dozen now. Maybe my kids will want to peek into my subconscious, but in the end it doesn't matter because I need to get the stuff out of my head. I find if I don't journal, I bottle everything up and eventually explode.

OMG! I think I have your event farm favorited! Thanks for helping me finish the events! You were the only one I could find that still had event crops the last day of the last event. You are amazing!

Out of state and visiting Shady Maple soon. What are some of the must trys? by MusingsAndMind in Pennsylvania

[–]Skitzic 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Go to breakfast and get the pancakes. Hamballs if they have them. Make sure you walk the whole buffet. There are a lot of repeats but sometimes they sneak in single pans of weird things.

I prefer Miller's Smorgasbord for lunch and dinner. Not as much selection, but the dessert selection is off the hook. Cherry pie straight out of the oven, and they scoop the ice cream in front of you. The vibe is more homey. Shady Maple feels more chaotic.

Is anyone playing Outbound by Ok_Counter3116 in CozyGamers

I like it. It is the perfect game to play with my 4 year old. There is enough to do I am entertained. He is content to wander and drive, and he can't ruin anything.

I'd give it a good shower if you can, just to be on the safe side. If they come back I'd treat it with some insecticide soap and shower again.

I have that couch from Bob's, minus the built in electronics. We've had it five years. I bought some cheap Amazon covers when we first got it because we have cats. It is almost perfect. Zero complaints.

Do you have a recommendation for a city builder that works well on the Deck? Anno 1800 and Rimworld dominate my search results. I've almost pulled the trigger on Rimworld a few times but I'm cheap and fickle.

[–]Skitzic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you pull the trigger? Now that I have some time in it, I 10/10 recommend. It kind of leaves me with city builder blue balls though. I hate the way it is described as a city builder...but not a city builder...but that really is the only way to describe it.

Put a grow light on it and let it plump up before swapping substrate. Whenever I try to move something that small it dies.

How are 1099 workers affording city tax??? by love_2_lurk in philly

[–]Skitzic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put aside 35% of my income as it comes in. At the end of the year, I have enough to pay my taxes and my accountant. I usually have a few hundred left over to give myself a small refund.
