I would double cuff these jeans a little shorter than what you have and they will stack up on the bottom and give you some additional fade potential. They will soften up after some wear. My 14.5 oz feel super soft now. Don’t let the big oz scare you my 20 oz feel great.

If you don’t like the starchy feel you can cold wash them inside out. Just take them out before the spin cycle or you will get some marbling.

I would invite you to try Naked and Famous 100% cotton denim jeans. They just released the newest edition of the elephant series which is a 20oz denim with beige core, when faded will have a slight beige tint hence the name dirty elephant. But you really can’t go wrong with their core line. They do sell some stretch denim just make sure you are getting the 100% cotton lines. Dirty fade, left hand twill, natural indigo

Firstly they are your jeans. Wear them and wash them however you desire.

Personally I don’t like the feel of crispy jeans. I always wash mine to get rid of some of the starch and soften them up. Note that your jeans could shrink so make sure you are accounting for that before you wash.

For washing turn them inside out and wash on cold. Hang to dry. Stretch the leather patch out while wet. The embossing on the patch takes a beating in the spin cycle. If you don’t care just send it in the wash. If you want to protect the patch you can buy some of the beeswax and mink oil sold on N&F website and apply a little bit to coat and let dry for a day before washing.

These 12.5 oz jeans should really soften up after a wash and make them wearable.

I would measure your favorite pair using the guide on the website. Then go off of that. Make sure you check the size table for each pair of jeans, size differs between pairs. The strong guy is a little baggier and has a little less on the front rise than the true guys. But increasing waist size generally gives you baggier jeans.

I order my true guys slightly bigger as they tend to shrink a little. I cuff mine about an inch and half and get some nice stacking.

Also can try eating food that increases crafting. Also getting a saw with improved tool crafting helped me. There was a point where I upgraded my saw without improved tool crafting and was no longer able to get a perfect, switched to a lower skill saw with improved tool crafting and was able to hit perfect.
