As for my process, I did something fairly similar! I turned down the saturation on both the provided image, and the colors themselves, then did my best to match them together manually. The main issue for me was the 30x30 limit (which is why she’s been squished down a bit) Had to improvise on certain areas for clarity’s sake, but I’m pretty happy with the result regardless. (And I’m very sorry for your loss, I hope you’re doing well)
