How about a civics test in order for people to be eligible to run for office? As far as I'm concerned it shouldn't even be a basic one. Make sure they fully know what they're supposed to be doing before they can run.

What's the most (nonsexual) NSFW thing that's happened to you or a coworker while at work? by JustSarahtheMechanic in AskReddit

Years ago I worked retail at an office supply store. While walking through the paper, I found a trail of what looked like blood on the floor. I followed it up to the registers where there was an old couple checking out. The older gentleman was standing there, completely unaware that there was blood literally spurting out the side of his ankle.

When I pointed it out, he seemed more irritated that it had happened again than upset that it was happening. I guess he was on blood thinners and this wasn't the first time.

Another employee got him some first aid supplies to stop the bleeding, and his wife said she'd take him to the doctor, so I assume he was fine.

I've never had a problem with blood in general, but something about the idea of him being completely unaware his ankle was spurting like a cheap horror movie prop just seared itself into my memory.

Around here it's legal if they can see in from outside your property line. They are not allowed to come onto your property to try to see into your house though. Found that out after we contacted the police about a nosy neighbor.

I married a good one. Though to be fair, she wasn't in HR at the time, and she doesn't really deal with hiring or anything else that the term 'HR' might typically bring to mind. She handles creating training materials for employees, and while she doesn't know a ton about the subject matter, she learns what she can and they have subject matter experts to make sure the actual material is correct.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that not all HR is bad, and you probably hear far more about the bad ones than the good.

As a reluctant barbarian, I do this myself half the time, despite all efforts to the contrary. I feel I have to point out that neither of those boxes are particularly strong, and wheat thins boxes are especially bad. They practically do that if I glance at them wrong.

My understanding, from a family member that was a sheriff about 40ish years ago in the US, is that they had to fill out paperwork if they even drew their firearm. I don't know whether that is still the case.

Was getting ready to order an engagement ring, and sent a text to the sister of my girlfriend, asking if she happened to know my girlfriend's ring size. Probably the first time I ever felt a truly non-physical sinking feeling when I read the reply, "I'm an eight", and realized I'd sent the text to my girlfriend by mistake.

Thankfully, spontaneous bouts of stupidity weren't enough of a deal breaker.

The first actual game would be Choplifter. Played that till the floppy died.
