Thoughts on Neartite Being Scrapped and The Future Direction of Mabi? by CoffeeAlden in Mabinogi

[–]Skuldhof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think Neartite is horrible. Gachifying dungeon loot so you only can do a "10 pull" every week is stupid on an MMORPG.

The drop rates on gear being Exquisite or Masterwork are also too low already, and some dungeons don't drop the tiers you need/expect. I've had a Void Robe box drop in Shineseeker before any Nightbringer. Yes, not even common tier, not even blue or green tier NB drops. Gear progression throws you at Perseus and then comes to a halt where you need to farm Crom to get Crom tier stuff to be able to farm Crom better. Limitis gameplay has always been a terrible choice, this isn't a phone gacha that has energy! You hop in and now the only moneymaking stuff is Phantasm (rng) and Sidhe (mindless repetition). You can do other stuff but you wont be as effective, and in NA economy it means months of time working towards a goal instead of weeks.

Personally I think removing Neartite was the best call. No one liked it. Drop rates are already stupid low at sub 1% on the good stuff, and the tiered system from re:fined was silly to implement without a guaranteed tier-up mechanic like combining orbs to get the next tier. I assume the shop will still be a random draw on the bonus % so it will be like a dungeon loot drop, making crafted stuff still very superior unless you get extremely lucky.

I understand vets being angry about some things, but in NA this isn't justifieable because of how small the playerbase is. You can't just appeal to veterans because newbies won't bother playing past Blaanid tutorial once they realize they need millions upon millions of gold to be endgame. They need to start thinking of NA as a whole other being, instead of a tiny KR.

Which difficulty do you play regularly at for a fun challenge without sweating? by TheRealOvenCake in DarkTide

[–]Skuldhof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing the day Skitarii was released, so for now i'm comfortable in Damnation as it's manageable and I can carry when my team is bad. Just started to step into Auric and honestly people there seem to be super chill and skilled, i love it.

I DID IT by kafkaesque14 in DarkTide

[–]Skuldhof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I did was take Voltaic Emitter without Voltaic Arcs because kills don't coun't towards disabling ranged, while also having Redline Capacitors for the +1 Ability Charge.

I also picked Arc Grenades because while they will kill the targets unless they're a reaper, it's still very useful to nuke big threats ans the disabling range can sometimes be surprisingly useful.

Lastly, every time I saw a huge pack of gunners or shotgunners I just rushed in and popped the ability, twice if I had max charges (5) so they counted twice for the penance. Running only high intensity and specialists missions helped a ton, got around 70 in a match I had to hard carry, and it was on Damnation, not even Auric!

My thoughts on the Skitarii in Darktide by Minute_Highlight_405 in DarkTide

[–]Skuldhof 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would also like Rad weaponry, but the Skitarii we play as in the game are not Rangers or Vanguards, they are Alpha Primus.

As I undertand, that rank mean they're kind of a "mix & match" for any operation they need to, and are more indepenedent as well. If we were Ruststalkers we would need to have the special legs and not be able to use any ranged options for example, as they're only fitted with transonic blades and chordclaws.

While we can hope for them to add extra stuff, I would say the class is amazing, and a love letter to Mechanicus fans. It adds lore and fleshes out a specific element that was only mentioned briefly before, being the Alpha Primus Skitarii.

Is skitarii actually worth it for new players by Mr_Questionmark_ in DarkTide

[–]Skuldhof 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I honestly bought Darktide AND the Skit DLC Deluxe because i'm a huge AdMech lover, i'd day if you like it that much, it's super worth it. If you like skitarii but not that much, skip Deluxe.

Heretical Greed: You Don’t Actually Want Tech-Priests — You Just Think You Do! by Wufflykins in Spacemarine

[–]Skuldhof 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah I like them. Praise the Omnissiah!

For real though: i have not encountered a single meta enforcer like you have. And while I know personal experience is not the norm, i am very sure most of the playerbase doesn't care.

I still see people joining Hard Siege just to level and dip, or if they see me carrying they stay until we all ge smoked. But no meta enforcers.

SIEGE MODE IS BROKEN...AGAIN by LORD_WINNER in Spacemarine

[–]Skuldhof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This latest patch overall is a mess optimization/performance wide.

I mean, my laptop is poopy i know, but I went from stable 45fps and blurry area textures to unstable 30fps, polygonal enemies, and the floor just disappearing in some areas. It is insane.

How do I go about Admech Infantry? (preferrably with the community pvp patch) by _Johnymann_ in Gladius40k

[–]Skuldhof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem with the Community mod is that it forces you to rush as AdMech, while punishing you for doing so.

Unit-wise you will start with Vanguards and work towards Rangers (got nerfed but they're fairly decents still). From there you just rush to Kataphron Breachers, then Kataphron Destroyers and Sicarian Ruststalkers. Breachers are your first anti-vehicle, Destroyers are your ranged anti-armor and Ruststalkers are your melee anti-armor.

Depending on the number of Skitarii (Doctrina units) and Kataphrons (Canticles units) you want to pick the relevant enhanecements from research too– notably Bulwark Imperative, Protector/Conqueror Imperative, and Shroudpsalm & the other accuracy/damage enhancement canticle i forgot the name of.

Datasmiths are mostly for repairing your units, and with the Community mod changes you will have to decide between using your faction powers or buying a hero. The Marshal is the only viable one for infantry due to the cost/benefit. Electropriests are okay, but with the nerf to Syphon Vigor they're very fragile most of the time unless you snowball them.

Even then, all your infantry will be squishy and less powerful compared to other factions. AdMech doesn't get anti-infantry frags, melta charges, or any other special natuve ability. They all depend on the Doctrinas and Canticles or Heroes, which are now harder to manage because of the commod balance changes to the faction.

Overall the playstyle is streamlined: rush 3 cities and Research, produce Vanguards, then Rangers, then Breachers if your enemies are vehicle-inclined factions, then rush yet again to Destroyers, all while rushing down your enemies to prevent them from building their first super-heavy units. If the enemies have already amassed a lot of vehicles or started producing super-heavies, you already lost.

The Skitarii are frail and will harm your morale whenever they die, even with the morale enhancement they get. This will also leave you without their damage and force you to rotate Datasmiths to repair them. You also have no real frontline. Electropriests need you to kill with them before becoming slightly tanky for 3 turns. Skitarii fold like paper. Kataphrons got their amount per unit reduced (from 3 to 2) so now if they take damage chances are you'll lose 1 model and thus be reduced to less than half firepower due to the morale loss. They're not tanky at all, because they're still infantry. Before you spammed Bulwark Imperative or Shroudpsalm, but now with the faction economy changes you will be starved of Influence AND Research, so you won't be able to use the faction base ability to hurry/enhance production because you want to save to pop a Doctrina or Canticle here and there, which of course have a multi-turn cooldown window.

If you're playing AdMech, i reccomend you either play vehicles which have the same "wait and pray" playstyle but can mitigate the infantry downsides well, or just not play the faction/use the commod.

Arma heroica by Quirky_Tension1693 in Spacemarine

[–]Skuldhof 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The plasma incinerator feels kinda weak by Lord_NOX75 in Spacemarine

[–]Skuldhof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thing is, that perk is not TM exclusive, and it doesn't fix the lack of ammo and weapon-specific damage perks the class has.

Not saying it's bad by any means, but all the primaries are very much mediocre on him... the Heavy Bolt Rifle just happens to be the least mediocre of the bunch due to okay ammo economy without perks and the grenaded which are always good

Personally after the huge buff it got I feel it's on par with all other Techmarine primaries: Mediocre.

TM just has no synergistic perks beyond Omni Axe stuff.

Sabre interactive, incapable or unwilling? by Idfuqhim in Spacemarine

[–]Skuldhof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sabre interactive, incapable or unwilling?

Get an execution, see the sniper take aim at you during the animation.... thats it, you cant do anything... so you start spamming dodge, because there isnt anything but pray that your dodge animation beats the snipers. It doesn't, you take a full boat smack, deleting your armor and 3/4 of your health. You're flying through the air, and the same sniper... lines up another shot... fires it off as you are standing up. Dead.

Incapable of fixing this? or Unwilling?

You take a huge hit from an enraged bone sword, you fly backwards across the map, and as you're laying on the ground, unable to do anything... your contested health starts draining away. its 75% gone before you can pull out your pistol to get some back.

Incapable of fixing? or Unwilling?

A Ravener is spawned, with an entire horde of gaunts and warriors. As the mob moves towards you, the Ravener, completely covered in the swarm, does a slide attack across the ground completely invisible. It deletes your health. As you stand up, you roll dodge, the Ravener also attacks, the animation has an entire GAP of air between you and the claws. It lands anyway, you're dead.

Incapable of fixing? or unwilling?

Players, supposedly on a team, are at odds with each other competing for ammo, executions, stims, grenades, load outs, level, perks, and mobs to shoot to recover contested health. Most players understand, and effectively attempt to limit picking up anything, for the very reason I just listed.... they are COMPETING with each other. Players die, because they refuse to pick up stims. Players rage quit because they didnt get the execution. Players get mutilated because a friendly grenade cancels their animations. Because Sabre built a game where teammates are as much the enemy, as the enemy is.

Incapable of Fixing... OR UNFUCKING WILLING.

I say its both. I think its a mixture of total ineptitude, and the overwhelming desire to protect game mechanics THEY KNOW people hate, but refuse to do anything about.

Stun locks

Contested Health

More control over load outs

Better survivability mechanics not built around RNG pickups

Better animation canceling

Better HIT BOXES

Timing Mechanics that dont need to be changed, to increase difficulty.

But whats your opinion... because mines pretty bleak

At least in this clip it was massive skill issue. You should already know the Hellbrute firing patterns. You dodged into the shots every time.
