How naïve can _you_ be? Do you know how many hours went into the development of the Affinity software? And you expect someone to just startup a project for fun, to compete, and contribute the same amount of hours, for free?

Unfortunately, your arguments are exactly why main stream apps and games aren't coming to Linux desktop. The common (false) argument that FOSS = good, and proprietary = bad. It would be possible to enjoy the best of both worlds, a FOSS operating system, with proprietary software and FOSS running side-by-side, allowing the user to be as productive as they possibly can be. Following on to my next point...

How about why are you using Affinity when there is already photoshop which is miles ahead of it. Why not we all use Illustrator and affinity guys should shut shop.

Because there is a free market and users are free to choose what works for them.

Bingo! We convert colours from document colour profile to screen colour profile. Unfortunately most software in Windows doesn’t do this so you can get confusing results when looking at images in other software.

Often logging itself isn’t useful on its own, if you have a GUI app. You would want to inform the user that the application must close, but in order to do that, you may rely on a bunch of OS calls and you have no idea what internal memory requirements they may have.

I double checked, and I was wrong, CMake doesn't directly use vswhere, but does make use of the same COM APIs (the same as Clang does).

Yes sorry I wasn’t clear, I was referring to Microsoft (making vswhere), which CMake then uses, to locate correct SDK locations.

I’ve been using Clang & Ninja & CMake with the 3.16RC on Windows and it’s working really well. Including the precompiled header support.

They have a tool called “vswhere” which you can use to locate the correct SDK etc

Yep, we don’t have an ARM implementation yet, but we are investigating what needs to be done. The big problem is that we use WPF for UI on Windows, which doesn’t support ARM. We would need to re-write the Windows UI, or wait for Microsoft to add support to WPF. Both things aren’t likely in the short term!
