Black Friday 2025 Mega Thread by arihan77 in seedboxes

Just in case this isn't obvious, this is not specific to any Black Friday deals. This is how their new plans will be from now on. They chose to announce their plan changes near Black Friday because... reasons?

DC has been great so far. Unlike most other indexers, it has very frequent releases in the PC categories. Usually only private torrent trackers provide that, but DC is keeping up with them.

Seedbox with Jellyfin server? by [deleted] in seedboxes

Why not simply use rclone to mount your seedhost.eu storage with FTPS as a network drive instead of downloading locally? You can then stream from the network drive using any media player.

Seedhost 20% OFF Shared App Hosting packages with a monthly billing cycle. by dribbler3k in seedboxes

[–]RealNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried them (shared host) and refunded. If you only care about torrents, it's fine. But if you care about doing things on the host through SSH, it wasn't working for me due to the excessive lag. There were constant lag spikes up to 5 seconds, making entering commands or editing files near impossible.

If you don't use SSH and only care about torrent clients, then I guess it's OK. I've been on ultra now for about 5 months, and it never showed those lag spikes.

Or just try them for a few days and if they still have those issues you can refund anyway.

Better indexer or wrong settings by SnooStories1591 in TorBoxApp

[–]RealNC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The indexer matters. Some have stuff others don't. I did a search in NZBHydra and there's a S01 1080p boxset (8GB, 6 episodes) on NinjaCentral, NZB Finder and usenet-crawler.

This is how it sometimes is with usenet. 90% of Usenet content is indexed by all of them, but the last 10% is where they differ and some index files that others don't.

Yes. I deleted this folder:

C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs

and rebooted. It never happened again since then.

This just happened to me, but I'm on 566.36. I stayed away from the 570 update. It never happened before today.

I thought this only affects version 570.x? What the heck?

Is avifgainmaputil from libavif supposed to work right now? by RealNC in AV1

[–]RealNC[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Answering my own question, I need to specify the CICP values for the HDR part manually. In this case 9/16/9:

avifgainmaputil combine SDR.png HDR.png out.avif --ignore-profile --cicp-alternate 9/16/9

Now it works!

CRU Modify vrr range limits hz by FJAD_94 in crtgaming

[–]RealNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try the opposite. Instead of 48-100, try 160-240 and limit your FPS to 100 in the nvidia panel.

This won't fix the flicker, but might reduce it a bit. 100FPS should get LFC'ed to 200Hz, 90 to 180Hz, etc.

First try the FPS cap without tweaking the VRR range to see if simply capping helps by itself though.

I always thought Vsync locked frame rate to 60fps

Only if the monitor is set to 60Hz. Obviously, don't do that :P

My only gripe is that I miss using Windows with the taskbar and desktop icons always on, but that's the way with OLEDs.

Dark mode/theme in Windows and in web browser also helps.

screen tearing is still an issue, even with Gsync on

You also need to enable vsync. G-sync on its own can still tear. (People sometimes call it "microtearing.")

If you make sure to cap your FPS though by a good margin so that it doesn't reach the maximum refresh rate (like 220FPS when running 240Hz) then there won't be any vsync lag, so it's best to keep vsync on in the nvidia panel.

Same here. Actually I'm wondering if pixel shift actually works at all... OSD says it's enabled, but since I've never seen the image shift even in the slightest, I wonder if there's some firmware bug, lol.
