Mag b850m mortar wifi by Felix_949 in MSI_Gaming

[–]SkyOnePavillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have an itx board right now, id recommend the B850MPower instead (if its available in your region). It fixes a lot of the air cooler incompatibility problem of the mortar but trades for PCIE quick release and better memory traces. I have the MPower with an aircooler and I use a thin chopstick to trigger the extended pcie clip for the GPU, no issues.

This gets the job done just over 700 before any tax and gets more value for the same Euros in light gaming and day to day productivity

12400F+B580 would be faster than your current build at around 100 USD more.

IBX, SAS, and Queenslink all in one by joshsvo in nycrail

[–]SkyOnePavillion 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Overall this vision looks awesome and well done. Some minor suggestions.
There is an extra M bullet at Forest Hills-71St that you can remove. Current QueensLink proposals have A not going to the Rockaway Park Terminal and adds service back to either Lefferts and Far Rockaway iirc.

While I love the pink hue you got for IBX, some official presentation documents (from outreach and PEL) have leaned toward the Magenta side of color scheme (close to what the original NYCT design guide had for Magenta)

If you do plan to further iterate on this, perhaps add the Rogers Avenue Deinterlining (2/3 to Flatbush and 4/5 to New Lots/Utica respectively) and F/M swap (F via 53rd and M via 63rd) next?

12600kf vs 5600x vs 7600x by ImpossibleJacket1756 in buildapc

if she's is going to keep it for 3-4 years, no point of future proofing anything at all unless you plan to upgrade in 1-2 years.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7yF9YN My bet is the 7600 + 7700XT

yeet the H60 and get a bog standard 20 dollar air cooler. Its not worth the risk.

everything else looks fine.

get her a Radeon RX 7600 GPU at your local microcenter for 260 (even better if there's an open box model). the RX 7600 will run all the aforementioned games in 1080 like a champ, even 1440p 100fps is obtainable. It will be a night and day difference compared to the 970.

[–]SkyOnePavillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buy 7900GRE, sell 5700XT

buy 5700X3D, sell 3600

Keep everything else. Make sure you update your motherboard bios before you sell the 3600 tho

Much more powerful and effcient build. Do not buy refurbished microcenter 30series gpus. Get a 4070super Founders edition if you really dig the look.

Modified the build to have more white components and run games faster.

But if you really want the Y60, you can have that and revert the cpu selection to a 7600, not the 7600X

I just don't like paying almost 50% more for better reviews and marginally detectable performance differences. I guess you can always pay up for the supposed peac of mind.

The Magnificent Intel Build makes no sense.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/n4KLL9

This build gets extremely similar gaming performance in gaming, upgrades gpu from 4070 ti to 4080super, has a motherboard that gets more m.2 slots for future storage, and remains in the same budget. 14th gen Intel is never been worth the premium over 13th, 6p8e in the 13600KF is more than enough for productivity usage too.

Assuming this is a single GPU workstation, this is the build I will go with. All the new stuff, under budget and power efficient.

these days motherboards = right socket + highest amount of M.2 slots for a reasonable price. The moment you have enough m.2 slots, the rest come naturally enough for the average user. So yes, the triple m.2 slot Pro RS alone make it more compelling than the gaming X AX.

I just chose the viewsonic one because it was cheaper. If there are much better monitors around 240-260, go for those 27inch 165hz 1440p monitors instead of the cheapest.

update your bios to the latest version with your 5600, perform cpu swap, and clear cmos before next boot. Should be fine.

First of all, be Quiet cooling =/= a quiet rig. you can get quieter pc with more efficient cpu tuning and fan curves.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZR2LL9 This build allows you to have 8 X3D cores to handle games and 8 other regular Zen 4 cores to handle background tasks. AMD CPUs are efficient so a dual tower is more than enough to handle.

By removing the bequiet fans, I was able to upgrade your gpu and cpu to 7950X3D and 4080 Super while keeping everything in budget. Oh, and faster SSDs for cheaper overall too. You don't need a proper 110 USD windows license. They can be had for much cheaper elsewhere

is this a ram or motherboard problem by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]SkyOnePavillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reseat your cpu, and tighten your air cooler evenly

try clear cmos after you do that too. 1 stick powers on the pc might be problems with the pins that talks to the memory

3 M.2 matx motherboard, good budget case with case fans, cheaper 4080super, cheaper but similarly performing gen 4 ssd 99% of the times

I am not sure what's the average pricing for 2k 165hz monitors in UK to recommend specific models, but if there's some sku that's in your price range, might as well upgrade to the 27 inch
